This week OSR lifted a special extra tall autorack from CP to test loading bright drops. Potentially good news for OSR if the tests prove successful and they can start exporting bright drops by rail!

Terrific video !! Your shooting locations were superb choices. You managed to make excellent use of many lineside industrial structures which (IMHO) makes all the difference. Can you tell me whether this is a daily run to Goderich and back ? And maybe what time the crew comes on duty in the am at Stratford ? Thanks a lot. James.

White exhaust smoke in diesel engines is always a sign of increased moisture that evaporates. Or it is simply the water vapour produced during the combustion of hydrocarbons and condensed immediately under operating temperature on cold days.
@disorderlyconduct6011
@disorderlyconduct6011 7 ай бұрын
Um.. No not really.. Its incomplete combustion of the fuel.. That much moisture in that it would be locked up

@@disorderlyconduct6011 In the event of incomplete combustion in diesel engines, rust is produced. And this usually turns the smoke black. Therefore, white smoke cannot be incomplete combustion.

It has to warm up first, or piston and cylinder damage will occur. Another to get it going more quickly is to turn it over with the fuel pump turned off to preheat the cylinders with the compression.

What is that Old Saying? "If it ain't Broke, Don't Fix it?" Yeah, that phrase should be taught to ALL railroad companies. Why may you ask? So that they can understand that even "Old and Outdated" units can still be utilized for modern day operations. Companies like Amtrak are Harshly guilty in this. They should have been taught that they should take Units that don't work properly, and get them fixed so they do work properly, so that, in the future, they could be preserved and have the potential to be utilized again. I call it, preserving some of the past to Prepare for the Future.
