Hi. Which minute are the strategy tips? Greetings from germany.

What an excellent video. Thank you! Did wish for more strategy tips to be shared, but the one that you wrote lower in the comments about dive actions was interesting because that's what I did at the start of my first game too. You're so methodical and easy to follow that I wish you'd do a playthrough video. Anyways, I'm subbed.

0:50 it's worth mentioning that you're not guaranteed to gain something just after you die, you do actually need to proceed further than when you last died. Which can, and will, frustrate players unfamiliar with it or people with less of an attention span or sense of holistic approach. Compare this to Dead Cells, where you gain cells just by proceeding through the dungeon, and you get to spend those cells, the sense of progress is far more concrete and satisfying. In StS, there are no rooms, just a few npc's and very flatlined, no lore, no story, it's all very random and uncertain whether or not you unlock anything. If it were a video game such effortless experience would be only wasted time, but in a board game the teardown and subsequent setup is far more time wasted and feels more depressing than in a vg.

Setting up the game you don't put cards on display face up until players have chosen their map and discarded their starting cards down to 4.

@@bhamiltoncx Thanks! Here's a bonus tip, in the early game consider focusing on Specialists that give you dive actions, because that's the main way to get research points. Then, after a couple rounds you can start cashing research in for conservation or journal bonuses. Have fun!

What do you do in the game if there is too little energy (dirty or clean)? Will Community Crisis tiles be added then?
@rollingdoubles7031Ай бұрын
@@Jarmo60 Yes, exactly. You add one community in crisis for each energy you're short, but only to that player's board. Also, it's worth noting that other players can't overproduce to "cover for" someone else's shortage, any extra energy produced is lost.

Un the rule book the boss relic deck you draw number of players +1 so in a 2 player you draw 3 and each player can decide which one to pick.
@rollingdoubles70313 ай бұрын
Thanks, this has been corrected in the Klingon subtitles!
@kansaskyle3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the overview! There are few rules things to clarify. You start with 0 coins and gain 3 from Neow's Blessing. The blue, yellow, and purple cubes are for the Defect. if you use them for character block and energy trackers, you'll short change the Defect on orbs. No issue if the Defect isn't in play. The black cubes are for Ascension 2. The purple orbs are the Defect's darkness orbs. At the Merchant, I've never seen it played where you can buy cards from another player's card rewards deck; however, the rules state you can help another player buy something if they are short on gold. On the Boss relic reward, you reveal relics for each player +1.
@rollingdoubles70313 ай бұрын
Great catch on the coins, I've added a correction in the captions to reflect that. Regarding cards, we've used the "Cards from Other Characters" rules to manage that, but in 99.9% of cases we've only bought our own cards anyway. It may be a misapplication of the rules, but there's nothing prohibiting it and it's kind of a fun twist so we roll with it! 😁

hello sorry bad English, when you put a dice on the player bard I think you also activate the meeple, and the little icon down the resource. What do you think? Thanks
@rollingdoubles70314 ай бұрын
@@MakerManu when you place a die on the player board you get any visible resources from that row; both the one that's printed on the board already, and any additional from meeple you have already moved. You also get to take the action on the card that's on the same row as where you put the die. You won't place or activate any new meeples unless the card action tells you to. Hope that helps, let me know if it's still unclear!

Nice teach! Thanks my man. Q: does the one bee level up with the empty hive rule?
@rollingdoubles70319 ай бұрын
When you pull back a bee due to an empty hive it doesn't level up, but it's a pretty rare situation as it would likely mean that all your bees are hibernating and you literally have none left to play. Always a good idea to have at least a couple active bees at all times so you don't lose turns due to an empty hive!
@StevieInMTL9 ай бұрын
@@rollingdoubles7031 cool! Here’s another one for you that’s a wee confusing: why would you put a bee in the landing area vs active area? I get that a bumped bee can go to either but wouldn’t you always want your bees to level and go to active to have another turn vs blowing a turn on retrieve? I understand retrieve is so you can pull off the board and landing area to get resources but if your doing a retrieve to get the resources why have any in landing?
@rollingdoubles70318 ай бұрын
@@StevieInMTL Yeah, in all honesty we almost never put bees in the landing area. It really all comes down to if you're counting on getting income relatively soon (within the next couple turns) and you were going to retrieve your bees anyway this way you can kind of have the best of both worlds and get your bees back AND get your farm income. Typically though you're going to be better off leveling up your bees and putting them in the active area.

39:41 you cannot sell both industries with one beer. You need one beer for each.
@rollingdoubles703110 ай бұрын
Yes, that could use a bit more clarity. You can sell as many industries as you like in one action so long as you have the beer required to do so (either from the markets or from breweries) and a connected route to the appropriate market(s). There are some higher-level manufactured goods that don't require beer to sell, so one of the best options is to sell one of those alongside something that DOES require beer (like cotton or pottery) for a really big, productive turn.

thanks guys, great video. A question if I may, What role does the excess coals and iron in the general supply play ? When do they get used?
@rollingdoubles703110 ай бұрын
Happy to help! The coal and iron in the supply are placed on coal mines and ironworks, respectively, whenever you build them. Make sure you're taking the resources from the supply and NOT the market, as that might cause unintentional shortages and make you pay way more for coal and iron than necessary. Hope that helps!

You know that you can trigger multiple trade route spaces if you sell more than one good tile at once?
@rollingdoubles7031 Жыл бұрын
Yes! With the possible benefit being multiple bonuses if you cover a number more than once in the same sell action, but the risk of covering up other potential bonuses in between. A tricky bit of strategic balancing and trying to time out exactly when to sell your goods for the most benefit.
