Never use a paper towel to clean any type of lense. Also be sure to put lenses and filters back in properly oriented, polarizing filters yield strange colors when installed backwards.

James Gordon I think it’s because of the polarization of the filter between the LCD and the projector lens. If you flip front to back it creates this effect.

I solved it by replacing the fan on this projector. I put a fan cooler master 120mm with a maximum noise of 14db.

Can I get more info on the cooler master install?? Great Idea!

Have you checked if the new cooler master fan transports at least as many cubic meter of air pr. minute than the original one? Otherwise you will likely cause overheating.
@JohnConnorTM
@JohnConnorTM 3 жыл бұрын
@Ethan Tao If I were to do it, I would also try to fit in a bigger fan with lower rpm to bring down the noise level while keeping or increasing the thermal cooling effect, basically the amount of air transported by the fan pr minute. I hope that is what Peter has done too, otherwise he is inn for a big surprise when his mod causes the projector to overheat.

@@coleclark3019 I do not know how he did it by the right way to proceed is to try to fit a preferably much larger fan into the device. One that can transport at least as much air pr minute as the existing one yet doing it at a much lower rpm. That is the whole trick. Choosing the best brand for the job may also help, as a thumb rule one could say that Noctua fans are the most quite ones, that is true most of the time, yet not all of the time. When comparing fans compare the following, the cfm rate and the db(a) it emits to produce said cfm rate, the higher the cfm rate, the better cooling. A better engineered fan may be quit a bit quieter as the next even if both fans produce the same cfm and have the same diameter as well as the same rpm. That is where Noctua fans usually win. There is much more to say about this, yet with the above info, your ready to go with your project. As a rule of thumb, the lower the rpm, the lower the noise. A 3D printer and basic experience in 3d cad certainly will make it easier to produce an adapter to make a bigger fan fit yet adapters can be made from many different things you might find in a close. Without knowing or owning the device in question, I think that maybe a cut off part of a funnel from which you could make the main adapter part from may do the trick for you in this case? Hope that helps, cheers :)

@@JohnConnorTM Mine burnt a brown patch in the middle of 2 lcd screens and was due to fan shutdown immediately on power off. They replaced them. I put a switch in the led power line and run the projector with led off for a minute at shutdown and all is fixed.I then put resistors on the fan leads and cut the sound considerably. My other projector also runs the fan automatically for a minute after shutdown.

Is it actual native Full HD projector and do you think there is a way to reduce the noise? Changing the fan or something?
