I don't know what model you have, but my Panasonic LX-200's auto flip feature isn't working. It hangs up or starts grinding. I can manually flip the discs like a savage, but I'm trying to find a troubleshoot for it. Any guidance to where that's available would be appreciated. My player was my dad's before he passed, so I don't want to part with it.

Wanna try this on my Pioneer CLD-F1 I bought from Japan years ago still in great shape but not reading anything after it takes the disc in. Could it be that shipping process tend to knock them out of alignment or tolerance or something which is a shame since many of these were made to last.

I picked up a PIoneer CLD-S303 from the thrift store last week for $10 that had the same problem. I didn't use any washers or extra pieces though. I was able to just slightly loosen the screws and it started playing. I also had the same problem of it being very noisy at first but all I need to do was adjust the screws a bit and now it works perfectly! I had no idea this was such a common problem with Laserdisc players. I'm guessing people had big stereo receivers sitting on top of them back in the day which caused the bar to bend slightly.

It really worked with my CLD S201 although a technician discouraged me by warning that the optical lens is fatally going to die sooner or later. I didn't mind at all. I am having a lot of fun with my LDs discs collection.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

It has been over 3 years is the player still working? I don't see how loosening that bar would cause the optical lens to wear out.

This is a pointless band aid fix - it WILL work..... for a while, and then stop working again. The reason for this is the loading belt has stretched from age and heat. Because the belt has stretched it starts to slips when put under load - which is what happens when the disc is pressed up against the top spindle. This "fix" merely reduces some of the weight the top spindle exerts but shimming it up from the disc slightly.... problem is, as the loading belt CONTINUES to stretch the weight of the top spindle will again become too much and this "fix" will cease to work. Do yourself a favour and simply change the loading belt then you don't have to dodgy up the top spindle support and it will work properly for many years to come. Hope this helps anyone out there with the same problem.

For my series of machines (CLD-D703, CLD-D704, etc.) the loading belt part number is SCQ3.6, which specifies a square rubber belt with an inside diameter of 3.6". This will get the tray to open and close, but it is not the be all/end all solution to a disc not playing. That would require a new grip ring (VEB1237). Every laserdisc player I own worked perfectly six years ago, but time must have caused these two replaceable parts to go bad on two machines, which I needed in 2020 to audition a concert disc.

Theres no need to use shims. Just slightly bend the clamp assembly up

Usually a stretched loading belt. Take off the cover listen for slipping belt n replace it.

Wow! My CLD-79 was making a loud squealing noise that was getting worse when I played LDs. Meanwhile, it was having more and more problems playing CDs. This was the fix! So easy! Thank you very much for posting this! BTW, I didn't bother with the shims, I simply just loosened the screws a little.

How do you call those things? could you write/comment them down for me below for me?
@quadraphonicfreak10 жыл бұрын
You should just bend the metal bar back until it is flat again. You can see that it is bowing downward in your video. Someone has put something heavy on it that bent it in the first place since the cover fits tightly against it when assembled. That is a common problem you show with laserdisc players since when that piece becomes bowed it applies too much clamping pressure and the spindle motor can not spin the disc up to full speed.

Not sure if it was clear, by using an external drive and having the drive with the appropriate folders in the Mezzmo library, I only need to add the file to the hard drive. Mezzmo already has access to the folders, so I never have to add individual files; hence never look at Mezzmo unless I am ripping a cd.

This fixed a similar problem I had. When I put the disc in it wouldn't fully clamp. Watched your video and figured out it was a very slightly misaligned spindle. Loosened the screws, got it to clamp, reset the screws, and everything was fine. Thanks for the video.
