Met Sammy long ago (1983 around) in Lugano, Switzerland, where he also performed at our university in Agra. Wonderful music, where he got me interested in the klarinet music. Good memories, thanks Sammy, I still treasure the records I brought home with me then

Fine…Isham Jones was quite a composer as well as a musician and bandleader…his songs were the equivalent of any of the legendary songwriters of the era between the Great Wars. Thank you, Ewan, for this.

This piece, and music of that period generally, are in the soundtrack of the film Hearts of the West, a comedy set in the early days of Hollywood, with Jeff Bridges, Andy Griffith, Donald Pleasance, Alan Arkin and Blythe Danner. A terrific film.

@@LouthJazzClub Yes, it is a great tribute to “simpler” times when your car breaks down and you wander off in the desert onto the set of a bad cowboy movie and almost become a star. And it has a great cast!

Thanks for your feedback. Louth Jazz Club was packed that night, as you'd expect. The clubroom is quite small, there is restricted room, no freedom to move around the stage and audience members who pay to watch and listen to the band generally are not that impressed with having a cameraman blocking their view. However, we are keen to improve and your comment has been passed on to the unpaid volunteer who produces these videos. Of course, you are always welcome to come along and see for yourself.

@@LouthJazzClub Thanks very much for taking the trouble to respond. I understand the issues but was filmed myself (whole band!) as recently as last night playing a pretty crowded club with no apparent problems. Better a slightly compromised view of all the players than the frustration of only seeing some. Having said that, terrific picture quality and rostrum stability so nothing personal. Terrific music and very best wishes to all the volunteers responsible.
