As a guitarist, I've given away my guitars to people who needed them. I learned long ago that I could be a third or fourth owner of that guitar. And unless it is destroyed, it may have 15 to 20 more owners after I'm gone, so why worry about a material thing so much that it makes me selfish??

Fun facts: The beautiful Gibson acoustic guitar that Vince Gill held in his hands for this video was indeed used by him a few times or so. Way back in 1996, Vince Gill had been working on his seventh studio album titled High Lonesome Sound. He recorded two versions of the title track which included a country version as well as a bluegrass version. When Vince Gill finally got the chance to perform High Lonesome Sound live on stage in collaboration with Alison Krauss & Union Station, he was playing that Gibson acoustic guitar in which it was later damaged in flood back in 2010. There are a couple of live concert videos on here at KZbin of Vince Gill playing that particular acoustic guitar on his hit song called High Lonesome Sound in which he wrote as a tribute to the late great Bill Monroe who was known as the Father Of Bluegrass and he performed the song in a more bluegrass orchestration backed by Alison Krauss & Union Station. It was a very sad moment for Vince Gill when he had to get rid of that Gibson acoustic guitar unexpectedly. It definitely had a lot of sentimental attachments to it but at the same time, it could not do it for Vince Gill anymore as it was not playable like it used to be. Otherwise, it was a very sad and horrible moment for a lot of Nashville musicians to lose their musical instruments of all types in a flood down there in Nashville.

It’s unimaginable the value of instruments ruined in that flood. Not just the monetary value , but the history of them, who played them on what etc…

Steve Farris, hello, how are you?, let me tell you that I took a picture with you (1988) when you and the rest of the ROD STEWART`s musicians went to my workplace to buy chilean crafts. It was a great pleasure to have seen you since you had a resounding SUCCESS with Mr. Mister at the 1998 Viña Festival and in 1989 with ROD STEWART came to do the first mega concert in our country, I remind it was on March 7 and the next day 8 March you went to my workplace. It was great to welcome you and talk a little with you. Other artists who had been at the Viña Festival also visited us a few times. I hope all is well with you and we look forward to seeing you in CHILE again. You are the best guitarist in the world.

It must be a great dealing to own any amount of works of art ( guitars ) but as Amy plainly put it, you can only play one at a time. That has been my Motto from the start. To those who are blessed to own many guitars in any collection, you are blessed beyond measure. I own a Hohner , Strat shaped, has a better neck than any Strat I have had the opportunity to hold, and I doubt if I ever will own a Strat, or a Telecaster, which would be my option if afforded the opportunity to acquire. So yes, only one played at any given time is what it is. Vince is my all-time Guitar, singer ,song writer muso. !!! I can tell he is a humble man . !!!!

I love all my Valley Arts 5 & 4 string basses. I’m fact I still have all of them. Mike & Al were great guys. Rojilo and Jose were great luthiers too. I think Lee Sklar and Abe Laborial got there basses a few years after me. I would run into Luke and Larry Carlton there often.

Steve Farris had the look and the sound. Tangent Tears from Welcome to the Real World is one of my all-time favourite tracks. Great production on that album but Steve Farris’s guitar on that track is awesome. The harmonics he gets are brilliant. Great technique. Great guitarist. Should’ve had much more mainstream success. Lose the beard Steve and get the spiked hair back. ☘️

I have to have my say here. I'm in my 50's now and been playing trough & listening all these superb players from Luke, Landau, Huff, Thompson etc etc. Just name it. I know nobody else who plays with such an insety with personal vocabulary. Sorry my bad English, I'm from Finland. But-Mr. Farris- You have changed my life with your playing. Just the way you think....... Awesome. Boom !!! You are so out of the box. For exmp. Kenny Loggins; One Woman. Listen and learn folks!
