Looks awesome, i love the colours!! I use eva and upholstery foam for tails I make, the upholstery foam is soft and wiggles easily, the eva foam (i buy packs of floor mats) use to add structure and for the part that sits on my back. I would recommend tutorials by nefferertity, I used them when I started making fursuits about a year ago, they are helpful :3

Adding on that curved needles are very helpful for stitching curved parts

Thank you so much for all the advice and tipps. :) There are so many different kinds of foam and not foam and other materials, it's hard to know what to use in the beginning. :D I tried working with curved needles, but ... well... I wasn't able to work with them yet. I hope I will get used to it someday. :D

DO you have any problems with silicone not curing ?

@@sepulcrum I have a lot of difficulties curing my molds. I've read I should buy some inhibit x but like everything else it costs some more money
@sepulcrum4 ай бұрын
@@blackb1511 Hmmm, usually you just need to mix the two components in the right amount together. I use dragon skin 20, which is a little expensive but very good and durable. But there are other less expensive silicones which you can use. What do you use?

There is an easier way to number dice in blender: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5m9iIR6ebB1lbssi=trHr4ALbuRvXqMd8 I still mostly use DiceMaker, but for custom shapes I use Blender.

so the quickest way to get smooth resin prints is to not sand. You want to use sanding just to get rid of the nubs from the supports. Assuming you have no pits warm your resin to 35C and then paint on a thin layer let it sit for a few minutes and then cure that in a curing chamber. you can also dip it in something like clear lacquer.
@sepulcrum5 ай бұрын
Oh, thank you so much for that! That will save so much time, will try that!

I've just started my paint journey at the beginning of this march. I used to only be able to doodle stick figures, but have spent probably over 150 hours last month painting over and over, failing and failing until I started to get it. Totally unrelated, I hope anyone that reads this that has a friend or family member that gets deflated because of how fast someone else seems to progress in a new skill, I relate. I was so sad when my sister said she stopped painting, she's under the impression that I'm "naturally" gifted when in reality I have been studying and grinding really REALLY hard. I've tried explaining but I don't think she's having any of it. I know it's a very niche issue not related but I think it's a unique bad feeling that I've never really seen artists talk about either.

Oh, I feel you. So much. Most of the time, people think we are just talented to hold and use a pencil correctly. And that we can paint a straight line. But what they never see is how long it takes us to do this straight line. This is not done in 5 minutes practice. It's not "talent" it's hard work and dedication. You can be very proud of yourself practicing so much, keep up the good and hard work. :)

How was your master when you pulled it from the mold. Did it also have caved in sides?

@kidneytheft82856 ай бұрын
The sides could have been concave for two reasons: 1. Your rubber bands were too tight and deformed the mold. Maybe try painter's tape; it's easier to distribute the load a little better, keeping it from deforming. 2. Your mold walls were not strong enough to maintain their shape under the pressure of your pot. Try creating a model with thicker walls or make sure there are no voids in the mold before you put it in the pot, although the nature of the project makes it kind of impossible not to have voids.

@sepulcrum6 ай бұрын
:D ... Viele Grüße =)
@sepulcrum6 ай бұрын

Great video and project!You asked for suggestions about why some of the sides caved in. My observation is that you need two holes/sprues on the top lid. One hole to let air escape and the other hole to fill with resin to replace the resin displaced by the pressure pot. You could fill both holes/sprues with resin and not just one. Pretty sure this will cure the concave sides.
@sepulcrum6 ай бұрын
Thank you! :) That sounds very accurate, I thought I "fixed" that issue due to pouring resin in first. But probably that wasn't enough. And the pressure chamber is doing its thing. Will think about it the next time using the mold. :D
