I remember hearing this song being played right before John Kay & Steppenwolf took the stage many years ago, great song to pick for that!

You can see the drums for the next band behind them in the beginning, I wonder who they were opening for here?

Amazing track. Colors brought me here (like leonhare6560 said in previous comment). Colors (1988) has one of the best musical intros in film. RIP Dennis Hopper.

Hi! Y'all a shout out to you all. I also love this tune. I'm from the East Side of Los Angeles. Hey I am glad to have been part of Los Lobos. I am Charlie Tovar and played congas and percussion in the early days. I played in the album " Just another band from ELA." Btw I still play my congas whenever and wherever. 😂 Later Gente! 👍😁🙏

I have a story. Poignant but true. As I mentioned I played with Los Lobos. Many gigs. Gas money y' know. Anyways I went to Tower Records back in the day man. In Hollywood on Sunset. I asked the counter staff about Los Lobos album. He said to look in the " Foreign section." He said never heard of Los Lobos. Around '85? Yet you can find lots of British band records. Aren't Brits foreign? East Los Angeles us part of L.A. County.

It would be very difficult for another band doing a remake of this song to do justice to it, but Los Lobos did and then some.

❤ Could have had a chance to get out of this wreck The time that you came and the day that you left Could have had a chance Could have had a chance Never thought I could make it this far With a dent in my soul and a hole in my heart Never thought I could Never thought I could But when the lights are turning 'round And wheels are rolling on the ground That day I'll burn this whole place down When the circus comes to town You left your name carved on a tree You scratched mine out right in front of me Didn't mean that much Didn't mean that much I'll scratch your name out on that tree I'll chase your heart right out of me Doesn't mean that much Doesn't mean that much Source: Musixmatch Songwriters: Louis Frausto Perez / David Kent Hidalgo
