Hi. With the new policy that was recently released regarding SOWP, will it affect those who are just waiting for the result? I applied for my SOWP and dependent on June 24, 2024, and until now, I still haven't received any result. For example, if my SOWP result comes out on January 22 and it gets refused, will we be affected by the new policy? If I reapply him or apply him for restoration, do I need to have a job in TEER 0 or 1? I'm sorry, I’m getting confused with all the changes in the policy.

Hi Mam I submitted my study permit application(SDS) on 18 th sept with upfront medical after that there has been no update on my application. I raised webform twice but got a generic response only after so I had to defer to sept 2025 . Please advice what measures can I take as its already been 16 weeks despite the fact that SDS application are aimed to process within 20 calendar days. I really feel this is unethical and unfair behaviour from ircc

My husband is on a closed work permit and I'm on an open work permit and working for a few years. The current permit will be expiring in Jan 2026. Also we're on an LMIA exempted jobs. Will these new policies impact during work permit extension?

Q1: If someone complete Masters (16 months) and going to apply PGWP coming April with spouse , they need to get Teer 0,1 job ?

www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices/changes-open-work-permits-family-members-temporary-residents.html PGWP holders are also considered foreign workers. Effective January 21, 2025, only spouses of certain international students and foreign workers will be able to apply for a family OWP. Family OWPs will also be limited to spouses of foreign workers who are employed in TEER 0 or 1 occupations, or select TEER 2 or 3 occupations in sectors with labour shortages or linked to government priorities These include occupations in the natural and applied sciences, construction, health care, natural resources, education, sports and military sectors. The full list will be available on January 21, 2025. In addition, the foreign worker must also have at least 16 months remaining on their work permit at the time when their spouse applies for the OWP. Dependent children of foreign workers will no longer be eligible.
