As a Japanese person the lack of pitch accent among Japanese learners is interesting. I guess it's not taught in normal textbooks and can only be learnt through exposure? Japanalysis also does the same thing, it makes them sound like robots.
@spongeborgtheford49712 күн бұрын

@RPGmancer21 сағат бұрын
Unfortunately even Japanese language instructors just tell people to not to adjust their pitch and deliver everything flat because they don't want to teach pitch accent.
@BZB3321 сағат бұрын
@@RPGmancer I've heard them suggest a flat pitch when unsure what the correct pitch accent is (when trying to use Japanese irl), but every Japanese instructor I've come across stresses the importance of the correct pitch.

It doesn’t seem that whacky and absurd to me. Japan, like many other countries is in the grip of a loneliness epidemic. What is more intimate than someone’s underwear? I would assume a lot of the panty thievery is due to a lack of ways to connect authentically and needs not being met. People act out strangely under those conditions especially when desperate or feeling alienated. And also some people are just weird like that.
