Lovely playing, loved this! Sounds like driving down a desert highway with towering mountains in the distance undearneath brooding dark clouds. How loud is this amp at full volume? Too loud for bedroom level?
@Guitarjosii16 минут бұрын
Thank you so much! :) If you use it without any pedal in front of it, it will probably be too loud for most bedrooms. But it works fine with a little Overdrive Pedal in front of it, so you can run it at lower levels 🙂But I think, it's a bit expensive for what it is. I mean, I really liked it... but at the end of the day, I would prefer a my little Pro Junior.

@GuitarjosiiАй бұрын
Moin! Vielen Dank! 🙂 Mhhhh, schwierig.
@michaelheinz3954Ай бұрын
@GuitarjosiiАй бұрын

Thanks, man! Yeah, these pickups are great. I just put a pair of these in an SG too and it sounds great. Make sure to use some pots with values in the 550kOhm range. A couple if years ago, a friend of mine said that john Mayer was preparing to switch to Kemper on his next tour. I said he would never do it. He never did. Buy yourself a bassman head, tune it up, hook it to a cab, use any boss pedal you want, and there it is.
@GuitarjosiiАй бұрын
The difference is, that John Mayer can afford people, who carry his amps. The second difference is, that he can play as loud as he can on stage, without getting bullied by the soundguy. I still love to use my tube amps, especially in live situations. But I do enjoy the compact format of the Lion. It fully replaced my tube amp in the rehearsal room. Better in ear monitoring without any micbleed, great sound for recordings - I can record the DI signal without a Loadbox and can put different IRs over it in the post processing to find the best sound for the mix. It has it‘s advantages.

Hey great video! Could you give a little bit of information on how did they compare in playability/feel? :)
@GuitarjosiiАй бұрын
Thank you! That's a tough question, I will try to explain 😅The feel of both guitars is really different. The Vintage SG has the narrow nut width, which is typical for Gibson guitars from that era. The Epiphone has the standard nut width. The shape of the neck is very different. The Vintage SG has a really round neck, the neck of the Epi is much more flat and has wide shoulders. The Vintage SG has a really thin coat of Nitrocellulose which has cracked a lot over the decades. The Epiphone uses poly, but these worn finishes don't use as much grain filler and much thinner finishes. So the feel of these guitars are really different. Of course, I like the Vintage SG better. But the Epi is really great - I really prefer these to the ones with the thick and glossy poly coat on them. The Epi is a relative cheap guitar, but Epiphone really did their homework when it comes to QC. I am impressed. So the playability of the Epiphone is quite good. I put some love into the fretwork, but after that, it plays absolutely fine 🙂 hope that helps

@@kinderobi Yes, absolutely. I was hoping for less when I bought them back then. I had an Epiphone G-400 many years ago when I started playing guitar. @GuitarjosiiАй бұрын
@@cristianhernandez9685 Hi, at the end of the day it‘s a matter of taste. But in my opinion, the Lion plays in another league. It‘s a whole different level. It is much more flexible, the room reverb is unbelieveable, it sits really well in the mix. These Ampworx pedals are cool but don’t come even close in my opinion :-)
