thank you for the return comments. Actually the music ( even with mine turned down or off) somehow was quite loud.. I will continue to watch. I use to airbrush 35 years ago, went to pick it up again the last 6 months and just don't have it anymore,, So I will try some oil painting by hand
@lawrenceburbridge90335 ай бұрын
excellent painting except, I am almost deaf, so the background music over powers what you are saying and I can't hear what color mixing you are explaining. I know my deafness has nothing to do with you, just the background music to me is way too loud.
@paintingwithbrandon-BBart4 ай бұрын
Thanks for reaching out. I have cut the music out of my recent videos and will continue to do so moving forward. Interestingly enough, the music is barely audible on the video editor when I produce them, with the audio level turned way down, but somehow seems louder for certain individuals watching, your not the only one. My color mixing is trial and error anyway, so your aren't missing much if it's the colors you are concerned about. Hopefully you are still able to gain something from the technique. Happy painting!

I love your work. Might you have any videos on soaring eagles from a higher vantage point? I'm hoping to paint one that shows an eagle flying high above the desert floor with clouds in the sky. Tricky perspective, I know...
@paintingwithbrandon-BBart6 ай бұрын
I have not done one from that perspective, but for sure sounds like a fun project. If it were me, I would google images of eagles flying to see if I could find something for reference. I'd love to see if it you make it.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm very happy to hear this video has helped you. I'll admit I've been in a season lately where I have not had the time to put out as many videos as I would like. I'm still painting, and hopefully will be able to get more routine content up on the channel in the future.

Brandon do you gesso your canvases. You work is beautiful but a little grainy. Do you prefer it that way? Beautiful work and well explained!
@paintingwithbrandon-BBart11 ай бұрын
Rodney, thanks for the kind words and checking out my channel. In terms of canvas prep and gesso, it just depends on what I am doing. Sometimes I prefer texture of the canvas for pulling paint of, sometimes not. Some commission work I will certainly do it. Most of my paintings for the channel itself I don't take the time to do any canvas prep, I just roll with it. Happy painting!

Can you do a white Pomeranian 😊
@paintingwithbrandon-BBart Жыл бұрын
Thanks for viewing my video. All of my dog portraits are commission requests so if someone brings me a white one, then absolutely. Beyond that though I unfortunately would not have a chance to work one in. Process would look exactly the same, just have to adjust colors for a "white" dog and I would start with darker tones and put highlights on top. The first pass would be almost grey, with a little blue in it for shadows. I would then lighten up my fur color with more white for highlights and final fur and hair details.

Thanks for the support! I have several different videos up with dog portraits so maybe some of that might help in terms of how I go about creating the dogs themselves. As far has dogs hunting rabbits, maybe try an image search online for hunting dogs, and find some pictured running for a reference, then just create a rabbit out in front of it, 😉

Brandon I have been a subscriber for quite a while and love all of your work! I’m no expert,but it seems there are too many themes going on at once in this work. The waterfall,the bear, skyline, etc., it’s difficult to focus on anyone thing. All are very nice separate but don’t seem to mesh. Thanks for your work.
@paintingwithbrandon-BBart Жыл бұрын
Rodney, thanks for the continued support and feedback. This painting and the items in it were not my ideas, they were a commission request. At first it was just for a waterfall, Blueridge mountains skyline sunset and wildflowers. Once I presented that finished work to them, they wanted me to add more rocks and the bear. I was just doing what the customer requested. And yes, it got a bit busy, LOL. Happy painting!

I’ve tried to paint this simple looking fish. It’s terrible. If I knew what colors to mix for top and sides that would be awesome. I have your list but u would lol if u saw what I just did to my fish😩
@paintingwithbrandon-BBart Жыл бұрын
Linda, I know the struggle as well, and I am no expert at color mixing. What I can tell you is the top of that fish is mostly a green color, any darker shade will do, with maybe a touch of black in it to darken it up at the very top, and a little more white in it to lighten the green up as it comes down the side. I will dip brush in a little water to thin paint if needed and help make it blend. The sides of the fish are really mostly white with a hint of blue and black. Hope that helps, but remember you can always paint over it and try again. Perhaps even test out colors on a scrap canvas.
