I’m just doing a rewatch of Inuyasha at 45 years old. In my first watch I never hated Kikyo I pitied her but felt that she as someone who is dead with her status and spiritualism should understand and learn to accept her fate because it was always going to end the way it did. I understood her bitterness when she was introduced, after all how would I feel in her situation? This rewatch changed things. I found myself yearning for her to find true happiness, only for her to be delivered a more tragic happiness. I was torn because it’s impossible not desire someone so pure as Kagome to have a happy ending but at the same time I bawled at her death this time because, to see someone who worked so hard to do the right thing have it be their downfall, then given what can only be described as a fake second chance at life seemed cruel. Her end was just not fair. I actually rewatched her final scene like 20 times. The only good thing (for Kikyo) that came from her resurrection was her ability to learn what really happened, process it, and for her soul to heal and let go of the hatred and anger she ended up dying with. RIP Kikyo

i LOVE fma 03s take on the manga, even if its flawed. I think that it really hightlighted what a talented adapation can offer. Even if there are some rough patches. SOmething that still stands out to me to this day is how 03 handled Nina and Tucker. Such an important narritive drive. We spend so much more time with both Nina and Tucker before what happens happens. They also handled tucker so much more delicately. While tucker seems a bit off, in 03 you can mostly attribute that to the fact that hes run on hard times. While in brotherhood there is this sense that oh yeah tucker is def up to something, with so many obvious hints pointing towards the conclusion of that side arc. And not to say that it doesn't work in brotherhood, but I am someone who prefers subtle storytelling as opposed to on the nose writing. There are so many other examples of how the sutblety in 03, like roses baby :(. And I personally think that Dante was a more interesting foil to Ed than Father. Especially because father doesn't really challenge eds world view, as opposed to Dante who completely breaks it.

Cosmic Era is one of those gundam AUs where you know it has amazing potential that was usually terribly wasted with bad writing. like an epic novel which was translated by google translate and edited by a 12 year old. especially Destiny.

Gundam Seed is the very first Gundam anime I watched. At first, I hated it because I thought the MC was sidelined in the last half, but I later found out that I started on the second season, Gundam Seed Destiny. I like it now but barely. I only like it for the music and the setting because the concept of Coordinators and the politics from it are very interesting to me especially now that CRISPR is real. I completely agree that the start of the Gundam Seed Destiny was really weird because I honestly thought that the MC was Shinn Asuka and not Kira Yamato.😂

The ship war was hilarious to me. They’re the same person. Kagome is more bubbly, carefree and seemingly different because she grew up in a non-dangerous environment with a loving family. Kikyou has the same values as Kagome.

I came back here everytime I rewatch Inuyasha Kikyou for me is a person that too kind for her own good and the way that while Kagome having the same traits, they have different endings Kagome is kind and people (rightfully) repaying her, she met her loyal and strong friends because her kindness Kikyou is also kind but she wasn't lucky, the person she helped destroyed everything she loves But even though she got betrayed and having a soul full of hatred, she never stop her selfless acts, she continue to save people no matters what I think that why I love her so much even as a child and love her even more when I grow up

Kikyo actually did do something wrong she put Inuyasha on that tree with her own arrow and took the shikon no tama away from Inuyasha

I never hated Kikyo. Her story was heartbreaking. I empathized with her. Hearing people hate her was a shock. Ultimately her story is given justice through Kagome! Via reincarnation she is able to experience the love and peace she desired. She’s allowed to fall in love and start a family with Inuyasha. I don’t see her and Kagome as rivals. More like pt one and two of the same story.

Maybe it's because I was in my mid-20s when this came out, but Kikyo was always my favorite.

It was neither kagome nor kikyo fault inuyasha was the dumb ass f ing around with kikyo while basically I love you kagome it's just so messed up and when kagome got sad he would stop seeing kikyo for while and then see her again and people just keep blaming kagome inuyasha had to choose one and he chose both and series entertained that which is the worst part about it

oh yeah, she didn't do anything wrong. Like taking the souls of humans to feed her reanimated clay body.

Honestly, I prefer Kikyo over Kagome, doubly so after the end of Swords of an Honorable Ruler. The instant she tricked Inuyasha into letting her put those damned subjugation beads back on him--after he put life and limb on the line saving her and the whole world from being destroyed by an evil sword no less--she crossed the moral event horizon and I could no longer view her as anything more than a selfish, manipulative little brat.

What is there to hate about Kikyou. She is awesome My most fav charcater in Inuyasha - female Kikyo -- Male Sesshomaru I would totally ship Sesshomaru/Kikyo but then there is Rin who is my all time fav . She can tame a wild beast for real. So I have to ship Seshomaru/Rin Why aren’t there any video exploring Rin?

the thing is that now the sequel Digimon Adventure 02 : The Beginning is out, it kinda ruins Last Evolution Kizuna for me. atp they prolly trying to come up with excuses as how to align it back to the canon adventure 02 ending, but god.. the way they do it is a mess.

I'd bet money that if Kikyo had survived or been fully revived, Inuyasha would have choosen her.

The only wrong thing she did was saving Onigumo. She is overconfident in her ability to purify souls, an evil soul like Onigumo which in turn causes her unfortunate fate and brings further negative energy to the world. Please do not sympathise with absolute evil people, especially to a narcissist like Onigumo because he could misunderstand your kindness as romantic love, which could provoke jealousy and hatred if you don't accept his distorted 'love'.
