It's a giant mushroom! It's also high-based, so that means it developed over higher terrain and since it's very isolated, the air at cloud level is either very very dry and/or the cold jet stream was very intense. Ground temperatures at the time is not likely to have hit 100F+; 70s or 80s is likely to have helped initiate this lonely storm.

This time lapse is awesome! I once was out riding my bike alone in the middle of a field when a supercell came out of nowhere. I had to peddle as fast as I could to stay out of the rain, but I ended up getting caught in the most violent part of the storm. It was a really scary experience, but, looking back, it was also very exhilarating! This video reminded me of it so thanks for posting.
