Clive Walker was onside. Everton should have been 2-0 down.

As a Spurs fan it depresses me to think Everton are unlikely to win a 10th title in the foreseeable future

I was on the Dole at the time and put a bet on on. 50 pence, Everton to win 3-0. 40-1. That Lawrenson foul on Richardson still pisses me off. But then again not as much as Hamilton's disallowed goal at Maine Road.

Old Wembley is still the greatest. The new one pales in comparison. Centerpiece for finals. Should not have changed it.

This was one of the first big games shown on Sky/BSkyB. Cracking atmosphere. Intelligent, non-cliched commentary from Martin Tyler.

This is THE game when football people took notice and believed that Everton had a chance that season....Andy Gray must be proud of they two diving headers, within four minutes of each other (especially the second one)....the third goal sums up the power of that midfield...Reid to Bracewell....I don't think I have ever seen a better pass than that, bringing out the class and guile of Trevor Steven.....all that's missing here is a Sheedy contribution...I visited Goodison Park the other week (wearing my retro 85 Cup Winners Cup final top....), just to walk around it....a special atmosphere.....Some team.....could mix it as well, but they couldn't half play.....

that LAWRENSON FOUL cost me £90 quid. Had a bet Everton to win 3-0, That's how much I believed in The Blues then. I was on the dole, £33 a fortnight so that would have a result.

Steve Foster was also some defender, and could play at international level (3 caps)..He should have been bedded into the England team around a year earlier than he was..(1981)..He was ruthless in the tackle, good in the air with some pace, read the game very well and his distribution solid..
