HeadCanon for this timeline: In the distant future humanity would manage to colonize nearly every inch of the Solar System but for many the dream of leaving their star and going across the galaxy to meet alien life seemed to be just that a dream a fantasy. However while exploring the Oort Cloud A mining probe spotted large a Planetoid like object of Mechanical nature heading toward our solar system. excited at the chance to meet extraterrestrial life and make friends from another world the United Earth Government launched a parley with the strange object on Pluto but unfortunately the object was not peaceful and would proceeded to scour the dwarf planet and entire Kuiper belt clean of life. more advanced scans would reveal that the metal planet was not just any alien vessel but a massive Self sufficient artificial intelligence operated Warship driven by one goal the subjugation and eradication of all organic life in the universe. Designating the vessel the Great Oppressor humanity would go to war with the sentient alien battleship and it's forces, resulting in a long and costly war that resulted in the loss of 85% of all human life. now with only the inner Solar System kept barely safe from the otherworldly menace humanity seemed to be on it's last legs. But thanks to the successful capture of G.O mechanoid technology the human race would begin to reverse engineer them for the purposes of Project Zero Ranger, a plan to create a powerful new breed of Variable fighter that can use the enemy's own advanced weaponry against them and save humanity from the brink of destruction. 3 such fighters were made Rybb, Decker, and the first greatest and most powerful Grapefruit, the later being sent out to attempt to destroy the G.O and end the war in a single decisive strike. Unfortunately the Oppressor would learn of this plan and would manage to hack and reprogram the guiding AI of the EDF forces Regret into it's loyal servant allowing it take control of the EDF's unmanned weapons as well as Grapefruit and it's Android Pilot, turning what should have been mankind's Champion into one of it's greatest enemies. Now battle android Sisters Mido and Dori and the remaining two fighters which had their link to Regret removed are being deployed to destroy their corrupted sister and finish her mission to destroy the evil Metal world and save mankind from extinction.

Nice clear x 2!! The game was made by MOSS, which had just been started up by Toshinobu Komazawa, who was a designer on the 1st Raiden. He was on Hamster's livestream a few weeks ago when it released on Arcade Archives. I prefer this to Raiden as it doesn't feel so drawn out & the medal scoring livens it up I'm guessing you know but in case not, the score items can be taken at 10,000 every time if you take them just after they pause during their rotations. Rank is directly tied to the number of power up's you've taken, so if you only take a couple of blue lasers they still do a lot of damage but enemy bullets stay much slower. So there's a variety of ways to play. which I really like.

Tank force aka tank battalion 2

I love this game but couldn't beat this final boss. It was so frustrating to have to play 15+ minutes every single time you wanted to reach him with so many forms and attacks to get used to. Plus he takes about as long to defeat as all levels leading up to him combined. I appreciate making him epicly long but for the shmup genre that's an eternity without any sort of checkpoint system.
