As brutal as it might be, watching that tribe take down those lions was remarkable. They had wooden spears and wooden shields.

My mom, who passed away 25 years ago, always told me that she suspected the lions became accustomed to human flesh due to the slave traders of the time. I am glad this documentary exposes that truth. They teach their young how to hunt and it is passed through the generations of lions.

Finally a truthful account of Spekes brilliance and Burton's disgrace and incompetence
@markgilks8264
@markgilks8264 2 ай бұрын
This is a scandalous load of rubbish. This narrator appears in awe of Burton and doesnt seem to know really what went on. Fact is Speke was a brilliant explorer who discovered the source while Burton was sick for over half the entirety of the expedition. Speke surpassed Burton and Burton couldnt stand being surpassed.
@markgilks8264
@markgilks8264 2 ай бұрын
Absolutely falsified rubbish about Speke, written by a self admitted Burton sycophant. Speke was the brilliant man here and did all the hard work and discovering. Once Burton realised he had been surpassed, it was he who became the snake in the grass. Entirely untrue account of the whole story.

I often wonder were these lions responsible for killing these man or was it man’s greed? We did put these people in such harsh conditions which provoked these lions to attack in the first place.

I have The Ghost and the Darkness on disc. One evening my UK neighbour asked if he could borrow it. I gladly loaned it to him but told him that I was taking it the next day for a work mate to watch it so as soon as he had watched it, would he please return it to me. He didn’t return it until tea time the following day - he admitted that he was too scared to return it when it was dark!

Micheal Douglas is incorrect on lions not working together as a team to hunt down their prey the Females are very well known for doing so.
@maliceinwonderland00
@maliceinwonderland00 3 ай бұрын
Michael Douglas DIDN'T say lions don't work together. He said MALE lions don't usually work together, Which is true. It may seem trivial but It's important to listen before speaking cause this type of thing is how words become twisted and false accusations and conflicts can happen these days and in the extreme it's been known to ruin lives. Specially in 2024.
@maliceinwonderland00
@maliceinwonderland00 2 ай бұрын
if lions work together it's cause they were already brothers. It's a rule to the exception and it's not common place. Just because it happens once in a blue moon. Also the point was that what the person said was misinterpreted. It was claimed they said lions all together don't work together. They brought up how female lions work together which wasn't even brought into question. Lets get one thing straight though it wasn't me in the first place who said lions don't work together. I corrected the person in saying that's not what was said. Word twisting. Talk to the person who actually said it.

@@mazz7834 I was correcting someone who was twisting the words of the person speaking in this video. They did not say in this video that lions as a whole don't work together. Someone in the comments said that's what was said. and it isn't. Which was my point. Everything else has nothing to do with me. ciao

I’ve seen these lions. They are in the Field Museum in downtown Chicago. That was years ago though; the libs probably burned most of that area to the ground by now; in any case. It wouldn’t be safe to go there now.
