What a shame! That building is quite an eyesore these days, tbh.. They should consider painting a mural of a western scene or something on the side so it's not so ugly during Desperado Plunge and/or like I said in the video, repurpose the old building for a year-round attraction or even better yet, tear it down and bring back the Ghost Town Train!

Great job. Growing up in 1950-60s Lake George was good fun. I went to Storytown several times every summer. I still live in the area and had season passes for GE for many years as my kids were growing up. I have ridden the Comet hundreds of times. I remember climbing up the hill behind the park and watching workers assemble it. What a thrill to finally ride it when it opened. One of the best out and back coasters anywhere. It seems to gain speed constantly throughout the run. Haven’t been in years but might go next summer to ride the Bobcat and see what’s new there. The GE Lodge and indoor water park is very cool as well. Hope you revisit LG in ‘25. Really enjoyed last year’s videos. Good job as always. Thx for sharing.

The Comet was originally a twister and was considered too dangerous so was reconfigured into out and back. Just a bit of trivia for you guys. I know you appreciate info on stuff you visit

Thanks again for watching! Always nice to hear from viewers who actually lived in the golden age of all the stuff we love! Lake George is one of our favorite places since first visiting last year and we will definitely make it up there for return visits in future years!

The park was 3x better than what you saw pre 2000s. It had 100 rides, shows and attractions then, and now down to less than half. Had free parking below the Steamin Deamon and you could bring in your own coolers. The park otherwise looks fantastic! Even then, you were done by 3pm if you got there at 9am, including going on things multiple times.

It was amazing! See our most recent review for the details. It was close to closing when we got around to the trail so they were pushing everyone through but it didn't ruin anything and I'm sure they space them out more earlier in the night.

I took my children to Magic Forest for about 3 years in a row, 15 years ago. Even then, the statues along the roadway for the "forest ride" had paint peeling off them and were falling apart due to neglect. Magic Forest admission tickets cost about half of the price of the Great Escape down the street from them.

San Jose CA had a similar park called 'Frontier Village' back in the early '70s... Unfortunately the instant track housing with a population explosion around the park FORCED it to close thanks to ignorant political leftists moving in and then complaining about the western gun-fights in the park. Socialists seem to ruin everything they touch...
@dhum27703 ай бұрын
Can you imagine trying to do a theme park like this in current times? The weak children would fall off the slow donkey ride - the Karen parents would sue! The gun fights / arrows / blood / anti Indian - the Karen parents would sue! The actual employees doing physical stuff / fake fights & fake gun slinging - most of those employees would sue for some kind of unsafe or hostile work environment! Current times are pathetic thanks to the left!

Started going there in the 70s, continued up until the literal day they closed. Can’t remember the name, but my favorite was the dome filled with recliners and bean bag chairs. Amazing video!! I have a question, how did you make that custom song intro/outro. If I remember correctly it’s an ai song platform of some kind. I’d love to use it if it’s available. Thanks in advance!
@RoadsideExplorers3 ай бұрын
@@sfmmscreampunkdistrictmusi8545 I use Suno to generate soundtrack music for the videos. I'm not a huge fan of AI but I feel if its used as an accompaniment to a larger piece of work it can be quite useful. Especially on YT where a "royalty-free" track can still be claimed and cause you to get any video using it demonetized. Also I figure if I make the songs parody-like in nature, there is no ethical issue because its not something trying to be taken seriously. And its just fun writing the dumb lyrics 😂 But yeah Suno is the best one to use in my experience!
