All very good advice. The cylinder scoring was also supposedly addressed in the 2014 and later models. Adding a tune increases the service interval, especially for spark plugs and adds pressure on the transmission! The m278 v8 bi-turbo was available through 2017, specifically in the Cabriolet model, however is extremely rare to find a 2017 E550 Cabriolet, especially with additional packages! I know they are out there because I own one 😊
@ItzCashCam5 ай бұрын
@@NickeryNelson yes these cars were definitely not made with performance as a top priority, since there is already the E63. But for those who are one a tighter budget still looking to have fun it’s a great option. I have done all of my fluids, spark plugs, carbon clean, filters etc. Maintenance always first. You are right the cabriolet and my car are both rare examples.

Carbon clean? Did you do that yourself?
@ItzCashCam5 ай бұрын
@@NickeryNelson well not a true carbon cleaning that would mean actually taking everything apart and cleaning/blasting the valves etc. But I followed Luke Brosious video and sprayed the intake valve cleaner into the charge pipes while having someone hold the gas pedal. I did see good results following exactly what he said and I even noticed a little bit of carbon on the exhaust tips once I was done.

@@Cornyy550 I like the Benz more just because of the size and more features. The s4 definitely feels lighter and more nimble but top end and mid range the Benz will win. @ItzCashCam5 ай бұрын
I am going to get it tuned and should make 600+hp easily possibly even 700. The s4 won’t be able to make that amount of power as easily. The Mercedes is about 4,100 pounds vs 3,900 pounds in the s4 which isn’t that big of a difference.

@ItzCashCam Жыл бұрын
I went the diy route which meant using carb cleaner, dremel bits, brushes and just using small picks to get it out. Had to do some vacuuming and blowing to get everything out. Also used popular trick where you take a bunch of zip ties cut the heads off and put a zip tie around to feed it into a drill. It just took time and patience. I may try diy walnut blasting next time as it’s easier method.
