I'm glad you are going to try again for Q2 :) I think that's one of the things that really helped HB90 work for me - if one quarter doesn't go great, that's okay, you're just a few months away from a fresh start. I like annual planning in theory, but I have a tendency to feel 'all or nothing' about my goals. And if I got off track on annual planning, it was really easy to just be like 'oh well, didn't work, done with that until next year.' Quarterly planning gives me a much clearer brain space. I learned some better strategies (about my creative projects in particular) this quarter, so I am working on setting up Q2 now and I will definitely share a video!

it's.... hit or miss lol. for me, i can get very bogged down in 'perfectionism' while writing, so having a deadline and having to write quickly and kind of 'stream of conscious'-style is helpful. basically for my writing style, it works better to get down the ideas like that and then worry about editing later (if it's a project i am invested enough in to edit) because otherwise i will obsess about a particular paragraph or page endlessly. this was an UNUSUALLY quick writing session because i lost 2 hours of writing time on Monday and had to make up a lot of ground at the last minute, but when i'm in a good groove, i can easily knock out 1500 quality words an hour. or i can knock out 100 words an hour if i'm struggling. but i like that NaNo pushes me to just kind of keep writing until i find the groove again, whereas without it i might just shelve the project instead of powering through. i know people who have done '50k day' where they write the whole novel in a single 24hr period! i think 14,000 is my biggest daily total across my 20 years of participating. my brain just does not work fast enough to ever do the 50k day even though it sounds like an adventure

@@foxsbestlaidplans that is sooo interesting! 1500 words an hour is amazing! I don't think I could hit even close to that. 50k in 1 day?!? That's amazing!! And I guess I forgot that you can go back later and edit it, that makes it easier for sure.
