I watched the video and it was possible to recognize how important is to not stay in your back while fighting, every time I see people loosing fight, they are in their backs while the winner is in a higher position. Keep this in mind and act like you are the predator when you need to defend yourself.

It's hard to know how impaired he was. He may have taken rounds from the initial volley of fire and could have been injured in their initial scuffle and falling to the ground. This on top of all the gear and debris and full grown man with his gear on top of you ..... While being taxed on cardio from fighting in fight or flight..... It's a defecate that may be impossible to overcome. I think if anything, the most important lesson from this is to NOT GET INTO THIS KIND OF SITUATION. While training and being prepared is important, I feel that avoidance is not emphasized enough. This is the absolute worst case scenario and the bulk of training should focus on avoiding these types of situations. Anyways, I have a lot of respect for this channel and the guys who teach and train.... But this is an example of how real life variables can stack up quickly and create an unwinnable situation, that no amount of training will help.... And the best bet is to not be in the fight.

you have the additional weight behind your attacks and since your back isn't on the ground you have 360 degree fields of movement. unarmed combat like BJJ might be different however.

Hey Redbeard. 1. In my opinion, something is off with Bustemante. I have listened to a couple of podcasts where he is the guest, and I think something is off with him. 2. I would love to have a bible class where we study a scripture, then work on pummelling, take down defense, and how to get back on our feet if knocked down on our backs. Too me, (I am 58), life is about action, and being active. To me, sitting "in church" for 2 hours is mind numbing. And I don't think the early church did that. I taught class last Sunday (mostly folks over 50), and I wanted to start the class with some light movement, but thought that might going too far.

Excellent video, well-timed for the world we are in and for what’s to come! This talk reminds me of how Peter denies his association with Jesus three times before the rooster crows. I see the lack of moral courage in a similar way, in that some of us don’t realise how we’re just paying lip service - going through a routine- to God because we are lacking that courage.’ In a sense, we are denying God something beyond words and actions: we are denying Him our genuineness. This is a profound topic, definitely deserves attention on a personal and social level. It’s something I certainly will reflect upon. Happy New Year to you and yours (when it arrives, if not already)!

I just watched Shawn on Piers Morgan, he was asked what has helped with PTSD, Shawn said ; Therapy, quit drinking, but what really helped was a shamanic psychedelic experience. He didn't mention Jesus at all, so I stopped watching. He just seems very suspicious to me.

In principle a good idea, but I am of the opinion that hard on hard develops the kinetic energy mainly on the surface, while soft on hard brings the energy more into the entire body. In practice: a hook to the lower jaw shocks the jaw nerves, while the palm strike (lower third of the palm) shocks the entire head, and thus the brain. Therefore I believe that the Palmstrike is the better option.

Excellent video, Sir! You nailed the point home with the importance of focusing on the weapons that’ll kill you first. When surging with adrenaline and other hormones, chemicals, etc in the bloodstream, it’s so easy to forget you’re not a superhuman. There’s the “haze” you have to focus through and it’s critical to never take your eyes off a weapon the other person is wielding. It’s fantastic advice here, and can really save lives in both a military/law enforcement combat situation and in a civilian situation! Lots of knife attacks occur in my home area in the USA, (also an MS-13 heavy area) and folks get injured just from trying to defend themselves against the attacker, but don’t focus on the weapon(and disabling it).

Wonderfully executed! Great video, very informative! As a visual learner/observer, it's great learning ideas from sometimes a different perspective. In my line of work as a Priv-Mil Contractor, we receive combat training from various Instructors, all from different disciplines and Military services. Sometimes the info learned doesn't always consolidate well, but it's clear you're teaching from experience and have a strong emphasis on practicality. I think sometimes the practical application of techniques is lost on some Instructors. I probably can't emphasize enough the importance of practicality. :p
