Excellent video but surprised you don’t have more about how he left Carolina. Younger ppl who weren’t tuned into the Panthers back then might not remember how Norman was franchise tagged & made some statements that he was going to hold out & get a good contract at the advice of his agent. Panthers GM Dave Gettleman reacted by rescinding the franchise & releasing Norman!! He’s from that area & wanted to stay & wanted to accept the franchise tag but listened to his agent. It wasn’t a distraction yet because it was offseason. Norman even fired his agent & asked the Panthers to let him come back & play under the tag but Gettleman refused & basically said that Norman was more of a product of the “Hog Mollies” Gettleman assembled for the defensive line. He said a good D-Line pressures QBs to get rid of the ball which helps the DBs get INT & credit for defending passes. It was a big deal when it happened so it’s kind of a defining moment of press coverage in Norman’s career. Again I understand that it’s very hard to describe a player & give viewers a feel for who he is & the context of how he fit into the NFL landscape of the time. You’ve done a great job here accurately describing Norman’s career on the field. Honestly, if you’re a fan of Norman, you might enjoy doing a video on the drama of his release by the Panthers. It built up a little bit, was making sports headlines & Norman seemed to be feeling himself BUT it was all an act on his agent’s advice & it cost him playing on his home market team for the rest of his career. Then he instantly rebounded with Dan Snyder throwing, I believe a contract for like 5 years at $15M per season for $75M. That was when QBs were making $15-$24M. I think Brady made around $16M in 2014. Norman got to Washington & was kind of full of himself with media at times. He was interviewed after each game & he would pontificate & he even called out a specific ref by uniform number once. Of course this was at the height of when sports media would get a CB & opposing WR chirping at each other during game week. Norman & Dez Bryant were making noise. I believe the NFL finally saw asked reporters to stop going back & forth & building up the matchups to the point that they were almost ready to fight by game day. Things got out of hand & with player safety being a reason for some to not watch the NFL it realized that escalating insults was going to end up badly if someone got hurt. Eventually Norman was no longer as brash as he once was as he never duplicated that 2015 season. Sorry this is so long. Hope you decide to make a video just about the drama of Norman’s release & how he was with media from 2015 until the end of his career. He’s an interesting guy & IMHO a beneficiary of the short era in the 2010s when sports media promoted upcoming matchups of CBs & WRs like prize fights. Enjoy. Thanks for a cool video.

He may not have had a prolific career or be remembered by millions but I'll never forget watching this man moss the prime legion of doom. There was a stretch of 2 or 3 years where he made 50/50 balls look routine

He relied heavily on a good pass rush. If the pass rush is there, expect your secondary to be pretty good. The same goes for Richard, BIG MOUTH Sherman. There was a reason why both these cocky ass corners went in the 5th round.

I feel like him getting benched for the year for a botched play was the first sign of a problem. Most players might get benched for a few plays, maybe even a game. To be pretty much benched the rest of the season is a statement.

I love Steve Smith. He deserves number one but it’s not his spot. Cam is number one. You left out so much information about Cam. He made 3 pro bowls. Offensive rookie of the year, with 14 rushing tds which was a single season record for QBs. First ever to pass for 4000yds & rush for over 500yds. MVP ofc along with being the 1st ever in a season too pass for 35+ tds & rush for 10+ tds. Four postseason trips, one leading to SB ofc but those postseason trips are the most for any QB in panthers history. Franchise record with 68 wins as QB, along with passing tds, & yards. Not the mention Cam stands alone in the NFL with the most rushing TDS for a QB (75)…

I can tell You what happened. He was a one hit wonder who they let hang around too long. The reason why he was so successful at first was because he was playing with the best Defense in The League. I am a Senior Citizen & if I was playing with that same defense I ‘d be the best corner back in the league. You said that he developed into a Mediocre player, he was already Mediocre to begin with before he really got exposed.
