Guys, I saw this at 0.25x speed. If you play this 1:58 at 0.25x speed, on the left you will see a yellow line fading away. My theory is both Sonic and Shadow turn super and go to the ark to stop it from colliding towards Earth

Water battles in Coliseum were a real thing. However, this was before they dug the tunnels beneath the arena in the Coliseum. We already saw in the first movie that there were tunnels, so filling up the Coliseum with water in the second movie does not make sense at all. Other than that, yes I agree the movie was quite average.
