I went up the West Coast, across the Top of Scotland, then Down the East coast, back to Royal Wootton Bassett. On the way Up, I had to avail myself of the Toilets, at a Services. As I was going, to the LOO, a driver, got out of a Car, to do the same. I got talking to him, and asked him,Why are you parked by the Charging Station. He replied, I have been WAITING for Nearly THREE HOURS, to charge the heap. When we get home, I will JUNK IT. The reason, for this trip??????, It was my Late Wife`s, last wish. My home and my car are both insured with Admiral but after seeing this promotion I think I will be moving to a different company. Although they are all in the same category together. Professionally scripted, definitely not ordinary people but professional actors as well, a lot of money went into making this add. Yes for short journeys and then charging overnight it is a cheaper prospect but you will have to be happy enough and keep the car for quite a few years to even break when you include the initial cost over a time scale. The cost of brand new Ev's, is quite a bit above the ICE model, and therefore above most peoples budget as well. The depreciation is also a pointer to the market demand and there will be more hanging around waiting for buyers and that will drop the resale value even more. Yes charging at home is a big ++ but as the UK weather pattern is what it is when it gets hotter or when it gets colder the RANGE will drop considerably, the hills and mountains you have to travel also reduces range but that will be of no consequences for short runs only. It is just advisable that if you need to go on a long run, you should plan and look at the charging places on the route you are taking, and hope there is an empty place available and that it works. Also, that your smart phone and bank and charging station are all synchronized as well. For the critics ready to pounce, yes I know that the plus and minus of motoring also applies to ICE as well, but not in the same scale. Remember, I guess that at least 90% of motorists on the road now already have years of experience owning and driving ICE cars, they also have the confidence in they though. The sad thing about the problems with EV's is that EVERY motorists is now loaded by the insurance companies to pay for the far extra cost when EV's are in an even light accident tit results in EV's being written off and worst circumstances if a fire occurs. We ALL started paying the extra costs last year and it will keep on increasing year on year. DO NOT FORGET - THE INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE IN BUSINESS FOR PROFIT FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD.

Unfortunately, Admiral and every other insurer are charging extortionate premiums for EV's and are a significant deterrent.

The oil industry and the non-EV car manufacturers (most car manufacturers) , are terrified of EV's since they will put them out of business. Hence so many scare stories everywhere about them. It's a breath of fresh air (literally!) that Admiral have released a positive EV video like this. Thank you!
