The only point Ford had was blaming Marx for what dictators Stalin and Mao did. (Not even considering both being in control of completely destroyed nations, Soviet Union and China, destroyed by Germany and Japan respectively, which was together with Civil War the major reason famines happened, which killed millions.) The only point which is valid is Stalin with his purges, which was put into action by Stalin's greed for power (which is likely the reason he was paranoid). This is directly countered by Marx. Marx also commenting Ford about not reading anything fits, since these dictators were in charge of nations, which wouldn't be compatible with Marx's idea of Communism. Hence we have all those terms Marxism, Leninism, Trotskyism, Stalinism, Maoism, Juche. Ford didn't know a lot if history, but he knew Anti-Semitic conspiracy theories... Marx however made dozens of valid considerations, countering Ford's supposed good developments. Marx Criticised the lesser evil idea, with Ford trying to control his workers. Marx Criticised Fordlandia or how it was called in Brazil, which was a disaster. Marx Criticised the outsourcing of production into foreign countries for lower wages for profits in turn, hence Michigan being worse than Flint's Waterpipes. Even though Marx won after at least the second exchange, the cherry on top was the third, when Marx went to like 10% of his power, when criticising Ford for his Anti-Semitic works and conspiracy theories (fitting again since Marx has Jewish family background), then criticising Ford's involvement in the Nazi war machine for his own profit. Combining these allegations, which happened to be true it is easily said Ford was on side of Auschwitz...

One of the many things I appreciate about Stupendium is what starts at the very beginning of vids and if you know them (I hope they don't mind me going with a baseline they/them, not sure what is preferred and would rather go generalized, if I'm wrong, biff me up the back of the head and I'll get it right next time) please give them a hug. It's a weird thing - that starting card about flickering images? Do you have ANY idea how few artists do that? I have epilepsy and if I have a minute or two to brace I'm lucky enough I can get away with just a moderate headache (and yup, their vids are worth the headache) but if it hits without warning? Badness can follow. I've hit the deck more than a few times because someone smacks the flicking out of nowhere and things go sideways. And I'm lucky - I have a moderate case. If it hit the wrong person with worse, not sure if you have ever seen a seizure, but even as one who has them, it's terrifying to watch let alone endure. I just found your channel and love your reactions and am so happy you cover these songs - I don't really know a ton of people with my slightly sideways view of the world (and insane love of good wordplay - gee, can you tell I'm a word person? 😊😊) so seeing someone have fun with this is wonderful. Marx rebutted nearly everything Ford said about him, from supposed hypocrisy to Stalin to negligent parenting. Marx and Engels' partnership was no secret; Marxists have never had a problem with bourgeois class traitors being part of revolution. No matter your views on the USSR, Marx's posthumous relationship with Stalin is far less tangible than Ford's with Hitler. Marx fully admits his alcoholism here and shows that while he was perhaps negligent with his children, Ford was actively abusive to his despite having far, far more resources. Ford didn't respond to the Nazi accusations, the violent suppression of striking workers or really anything Marx said about him. All he's left with in the end are dad jokes and Marx smelling bad. Even the most virulent anti-communist would have to admit Marx had this in the bag.
