And yes, there’s no need for that eighth note rest. That note SHOULD be a quarter note on count 4.

Yes, in measure 15, there should not be a tie in the tenor part. Also, in measure 16, the snare part could’ve been written with one whole note and if he wants the release to be the first note of measure 17, then yes he can put a tie. If he wants the release to be on the count of 4 of measure 16, then a tie is not really necessary, but that depends on the instructor and/or how verse the drum line is at reading sheet music.

Yes, ALL stems should go up. Also, the proper way to play that half note with 3 lines is: the half note covers two counts, but the lines get 2 beats each for a total of 6 beats. So, the way it’s written is suppose to be played RR LL RR in 2 counts, or RLRLRL in 2 counts.

This was just bad. You don’t notate rolls in drumline as half notes with 3 slashes. You don’t EVER put ties in drum parts. And you don’t have an eighth note and an eighth rest as lasting one beat. Just put a quarter note. Your tenor part has all sorts of stupid arounds and pushes. Your snare part has stems going all over the place. Just not a good piece of “music”

I agree this cadence has no flow and my school plays this as our cadence but it’s wayyyy better than the one in this video

Christian and Chase you are both wrong. Yes, maybe he/she wrote the wrong style of note, but y’all could read it, and understand it. So, if you wanted to rewrite it YOUR way for who or how you teach, then just do it. If y’all don’t teach, and y’all don’t know music theory, then shut up. Lol. Give the writer some credit.
