Why do we abandon? Nothing gets abandoned if it makes sense of purpose. For example- carrying cow dung in any form to west doesn’t make sense. Even if it is in form of varatti I think it is not needed to follow process if the purpose can be attained by easier procedures. One can say it is for Shuddhi and cleanliness- when I have Dettol spray that will cleanse everything 99.99% - why bother go thru customs or stick to something that may not be freely available? Drying clothes in a kodi... In cold weathers- when it is snowing- we have to use heaters! Kodi isn’t going to help. I understand madi and acharam- but why cant we use a separate cycle of dryer- why are you advocating that we need to stick to drying it in kodi or a separate stand? In sub-zero temperatures it will simply not dry. Run a separate cycle for madi clothes- and leave it in the dryer until they are rady tow ear- it will be crumpled ok- but still its madi! In short- are we asked to follow things without thinking if it is practical? Are we asked to do it exactly as it was advocated hundreds of yrs back? If there is a better route to achieve the same purpose WHY NOT? Our rituals are to create vairagyam YES- but it needs to also be doable and upgraded within our swadharmam. I will find it very hard to make sense to my child of all these anushtanams of varatti and madi. We are all madi with Dettol, Shuddhi with Dettol. Not arguing with you baselessle- but would love to know WHY we cant upgrade things and make it a tad bit practical? We believe in purpose don’t we. Form is for the content and to HOLD the content isn’t it… …the form of god is to HOLD the content of god particle it represents. Same with rituals/anushtanams - purpose is held within a ritual. I heave heard from Shri Velukkudi Krishnan and Shri Dushyant Sridhar's lectures that women, shudras and avarnas should no and cannot practice karma yoga, jnani yoga and bhakti yoga and that they can only do Prapatti. They base their view on Ramanuja's Gita Bhashyam. If that is the case, would that not make 90% of the Gita's teachings irrelevant to at least 80% of the Hindus? How Should women, shudras and avarnas then approach Gita?
