22 years ago, there was a station at that spot in Shelburne. It was for the long-since demised commuter rail service that ran from Charlotte to Burlington. It was supposed to relieve traffic during the reconstruction of Route 7. People rode it when there was no fare during the opening period. People shunned it when the fares were implemented. It was a colossal failure. The VTR wound up with upgraded infrastructure for it's freight service an taxpayer dollars were wasted on an experiment.
@AdamTheTrainFan2 жыл бұрын
The station is actually still there, but sees very little use, really just the Independence Day firework train that used to run on July 3rd to Burlington. Has not ran since before COVID though I believe.

0.49-Train is passing Shelburne. That was the site of a station when VTR attempted to run a commuter train between Charlotte and Burlington. Shelburne had an attractive station with a small eated area for cold weather. After spending big bucks to upgrade the tracks, the commuter train was an absolute failure. The Shelburne station appears to be history and an empty site.
