You are right and wrong. It is completely true that Dimebucker needs basswood, but my Ibanez RG550 Japan made is basswood and Dimebucker is perfect on it! I tryed in another guitar, Kramer Baretta (alder) and it was bad.

Hey man. Nah not really, there is a sweet spot to find by adjusting the truss rod and the bridge, but I got it to a pretty comfy setting. You won't get it as low as a modern guitar like an Ibanez RG or something like that, but that's not what these guitars are meant for if you ask me. Of course it's also a matter of personal taste.

If you look at 0:19 that's pretty much it! Gain at full, Volume at around one o clock, and EQ full left. No overdrive in front or anything like that. It's a pretty solid practice amp.

Then there is Mayhem's "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" from the record that has thesame name, and Burzum's "Spell Of Destruction" , and after that Dark Funeral's "The Secrets Of The Black Arts". If you are novice to the genre, I would urge you to look into everything Darkthrone has released in the 90s, also Katharsis from Germany's discography, and Clandestine Blaze. All truly killer stuff, what black metal is really about in my humble opinion.
