Very few actual Dutch Haagenaars use it. It was always on the edge. It is now been taken over by immigrant cultures. Been maybe twice in my whole time here. It is not an honest market. You cant look and touch like a French market in fact there is a saying; "aanraken kopen" (touching means buying). Never mind the pick pockets. It services the aso end of the city. I plus many others would not been seen dead there. It is quite amazing tourists find it!

Our family walked to and around and through this park every Sunday afternoon. I loved the beauty which some is missed on a bike but ,oh, how I hated the walking. But I went because we each got to spend 25 cents on a candy bar. Anyone remember that delicious, big, English toffee bar sold in the 1950's. Yup, a kid will go through much suffering for a piece of candy. But they were good memories- the pigs, the red roses on trellisses, the playground, the deer, stork (ooievaar), the ornate white bridge, peacocks, and the swan- shaped car with a train of wagons behind. But what are you doing riding such a noisy bike?
