If you want to be an artist or do anything interdisciplinary then LEAVE India right now. India is surely booming as an economy but quality of life is still garbage. This advice only works for people in tech and other corporate slavery stuff. I left India 4 years ago to pursue music and it is going incredibly well. I am also able to comfortably do data analysis on the side. Would I have been able to do this in India? Absolutely not.

However, it's essential to note that opportunities in the artistic field have expanded significantly, especially with the rise of social media. Geography doesn't limit your potential, and India's rich culture and diversity offer unique creative inspirations. Remember, every path is different, and what works for one person may not work for another. The world is vast, and there are opportunities everywhere. It's about finding the right fit for your dreams and aspirations.

@@trendingdiarypodcast It's very very easy to say that simply sitting in India. I thought the exact same and all uncles and aunties recommend me the same thing. Why don't you look up the number of orchestras in each country? The number of musicians? The difference is ridiculous. Not all musicians are Instagram influencers, when you come abroad you'll know that music HAS borders, being surrounded by like minded musicians and opportunities to perform makes a massive difference. Please think outside the social media bubble. Would India pay me $4,000 (approx ₹3.2L) to write a piece for an orchestra? Absolutely not, probably if I'm AR rahman but not if I'm an amateur. The US pays its musicians that's why the biggest musicians whether classical or pop star come to the US. India is literally nowhere compared to that. Even if it has improved, it's only relative. Similarly, all my friends in India are still doing unpaid internships which is completely exploitative. Yes, that happens in the US too but at a MUCH smaller degree. A crazy number of my India loving friends are now running to the US for masters. I do think India is amazing because of its fast growing economy and very very hard working and smart youth population, but please don't fool people by telling them that staying in India is "better" because it simply isn't in a lot of ways.
