So helpful. would never have guessed that the water color brushes are NOT the best for watercolor - at least if you care about texture!

If you purchase brush packs for procreate do you have to credit the creator of them? I’ve been trying to figure out how to draw watercolor and I must admit it’s been a bit overwhelming. I usually do ink but I prefer watercolor look and it’s like trying to unlearn the way I draw lol
@SquidpegАй бұрын
@@ZeeGauntlet you'll want to read the terms set by the brush creator when you're purchasing. I've never come across a brush set that requires/requests you give them credit if you use the set you purchased, but it's possible. I provide the names and links to any purchase ld brushes I use in my videos just in case viewers want to go buy the exact ones I use.

It's a good thing art isn't a competition. I recommend @WatercolorbyShibasaki and @MargaretMoralesArt.

You’re so right. The actual watercolour brush is so underwhelming. I’m a beginner and when I used that, I was really not satisfied and thought I might have to buy some extra brushes. Thank you so much for this video!!!

Thanks for this needed discussion about AI. As an older analogue painter the same concerns surfaced about the authenticity of digital painting, but many of us have figured out its usefulness and have recognized it as an art form. I have the sense that the same thing will (eventually) happen with AI art. I have seen one artist’s gallery exhibition that broadened my understanding. He had so many unique approaches. One example was his poetry which he used AI to interpret his poems into visual art, but through very personal editing and adjustments until he was satisfied with the result. A collaboration I guess, but his artistic vision came through load and clear. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the uniqueness of his work. So, maybe artists who use AI will one day acknowledge this as part of their process. One can only hope :-)

Thank you for sharing the insight. It would be interesting to see a gallery based on someone's poetry like that. The biggest issue that I and a lot of other artists have with AI images is the way they came to be was highly predatory on current artists. Millions of artworks were uses to train the AI programs without consent or compensation of the artists who made them. This has muddled tge waters to the point that we cannot tell to what extent AI images are theft or blatant ripoffs. With tge amount of editing needed to make an AI image and make it truly a unique work of art, a person might as well just learn how to make the image from scratch themselves.

This was so helpful, I’ve been having procreate for a year and I still feel like a complete beginner, can you make a video to help beginners learn how to navigate procreate and how to complete a drawing from start, with or without references. Sometimes when I’m on the go and I dont have my sketchbook I want to use my iPad but with all the tools and buttons I get discouraged. Thank you so much for your help 😅

I'm glad this was helpful. And yes! I've done a few videos showing my process within Procreate, but not specifically a "for beginners" tutorial, so that will be coming up soon. Thanks for the suggestion!

Super cool tutorial! I’m wondering though how you managed the layers? It’s a bit hard to track when you make a new layer for the inking or shadows vs color washes and makeup. Do you have another video about this? Thanks!

I have always known which way to hold a pencil, but other than scribbles, it was until 12 months ago that I started using a tablet and cheap generic pen. I was hooked at what I was capable of. It brought a level of peace I didn't realise I could find. From me drawing almost constantly in a tablet. About 3 months ago I wanted to actually use paint and canvas.. Wow. Now I'm knocking out 80x60s for fun with oil and I just purchased some 1.5x1s which are massive. None of this would have been happening if I hadn't started using a tablet. I've recently just had my tablet drawings printed and I be honest. Some genuinely look like I've actually used real paint.
