I used to go there all the time or get food to eat 😊

Have to agree with you. Hardees is known for good food. McDonald's was awfully close to this for sure.

This looks like a pretty nice Sears store. I was reading the other day how only 4 states still have Sears. None of them are midwest.

Is it rare to see a Best Buy closed? I do like the idea of repurposing vacant stores. Sometimes outlets are ok.

Missing the dine in Pizza Hut restaurants for sure. I used to like the pan crust but now they charge for it. Haven't had it in quite a while.

This is definitely interesting. I always feel for people when a grocery store goes out. Hoping they did something with it.

It really sucks to see that my local mall is dying. The architecture of this mall is very beautiful. I think this mall gets a lot of competition with Old Orchard since it's nearby and a lot of people go there.

There aren't a lot of Save-A-Lot stores anymore. One in my hometown is closing, but something is going in it. Hoping the people involved in this closure have a great neighborhood store to visit.

Sad to see malls in this state of decline especially during the Christmas season. Truly sad. As for me i do not have the motivation to shop on Amazon. I much rather see, feel what im buying. I enjoyed shopping at actual brick and mortar stores just recently.

The Dick's was originally Sears, Sears closed in 2013, and the building was demolished to make way for Dick's. The only anchor that is vacant is the old Younkers.
@CSXfan6185 күн бұрын
The HC Prange or Prange's store would become Younkers in 1992, then Bergner's in 1996 as Younkers sold this location to Bergner's since the 2 companies were not united yet and were still separate companies at the time. Younkers was acquired by Proffitt's in 1996, then Proffitt's (later Saks) acquired Bergner's in 1998. Bergner's closed in 2018 due to bankruptcy from Bon-Ton and this was the second bankruptcy of Bergner's, the first being in 1991.

Great vid, thanks for posting. I was in a busy bustling mall here in Texas last week. It reminded me of the Peru Mall back in the 90s. Good times.

Is that Tom and Jerry on the sign? When I was little, I remember asking Dad “why doesn’t Tom and Jerry’s have Tom and Jerry as the mascot?” and that’s how 8 year old me learned about copyright laws

This place was always a mess! Mom took me here when I was a kid, and at one point I spent like 15 minutes playing in the toy aisle here. This side of town has declined DRAMATICALLY since I was little

Did you ask any employees while you were at this Roomplace, when their last day open will be? I almost debate if I should revisit one, for one last time. Just since I liked how they remodeled the interior of Lincolnwood(former Carson's), right before it opened.

Wondering what the future holds for KFC. I know in some of your IL mall videos I see Popeye's in the malls. We don't have any in our malls. I think that might be some competition for them.

That area was built up with the understanding of two malls that were never built one at 59 and 119 called Naperville Pollo club development that if had been built would have had a lot of high end stores including van mauer and a mall 59 and i-55 in Shorewood-Joliet area that was going to be this huge 2 million sqft + mall and entertainment complex that just never finished since that was never built a lot of stuff built around those sites now closing because nothing drawing people their I love for 18 + years down the from their and we went the other way and stayed in Naperville because their was no reason to go that way

Art Van was here. Iowa had at least two locations. The furniture chain prior to Art Van was pretty much like how you described. An update from IA: According to KCCI in Des Moines, Southridge Mall just changed ownership to someone local. Macerich owned them and it has been on quite a few channels.
