Great video, Nique Tan. Looking forward to your next upload! I tapped the thumbs up button on your segment. Keep up the fantastic work. The details on the shells and their unique properties were fascinating! Have you considered any specific routines that could really showcase the color change effect you mentioned?
@niquetan15 күн бұрын
I didn’t learn the moves required for the colour change as I felt if I ever performed this routine, it’d be focused on the expose element of the plot and so wouldn’t perform “magic” effects in it. Thank you for the support and I’m glad you enjoyed the video! 🙏🏻

Wow, your performance and handling of the ultimate 3 card monte was incredible! I have this trick, and I have learned so much from this video. I have been performing it in a different way, but that was very smooth and way less obvious. I'm always aware of picking them up by the same corner but that looked flawless. Well done, you have one more subscriber to your 4k!

@@niquetan well you have a very confident way of handling the cards which I'm assuming comes from a lot of experience. I'm just a beginner and I was very impressed by the Wild Card trick, a very powerful effect! The force at the start was great, and I'm assuming there are some DF's and some silky smooth sleights, but I'm still fooled as to how it works, especially when you can see the four cards at the end all with red backs. I'm sure it's a case of your presentation being so on point, but very impressive, and a trick that I'm keen to learn. Would you say it was beginner friendly?
@niquetan17 күн бұрын
My handling is a combination of the in the hands version that was released by Deuce Gala (I’ve reviewed that on my channel too) and also some of my inputs along with Tommy Wonder’s. I would say you need some card handling chops, but once you get the sequence down it shouldn’t been too difficult. I’d recommend for sleight heavy routines, you also rehearse reciting script along with the physical routine, so you get a more rounded practice in and can perform better during actual show time.

Nice review, I have those shells and they are beautiful. My only concern is the peas they use with this set are smaller then normal peas. That are used in most 3 shell games. So if you wanted buy extra peas to replace lost peas. You would have to do some internet searching? TCC sells other small peas for there mini cups and balls trick. But those peas are too Big (bigger) for this Three shell game. The peas used in this trick are 7mm according to the TCC website.

Dude your card and coin skills are insanely impressive!! 👏👏👏 I saw you doing a “3 fly” in one of your shorts titled ‘Old habits die hard’! *It is so good that it makes me wonder why do you only do mentalism and not ‘sleight of hand’ in shows these days???!!* 🤔 *Congratulations on 4K btw, you deserve a million for the good work you put out!! Wish you reach there soon and keep it up!!* 🫶🏽🔥💐

Thanks Nique! Do you feel the gap at the back of the shell (where turtles head would pop out) is too large? The indentation that is present on my shells seems to be better disguised. Wonder if a spectator might notice. I have a few sets but like you dont' perform it.
@niquetan19 күн бұрын
I don’t think it is; though hearing you now, I can understand the concern. I haven’t the flight time to know how spectators respond to this effect or how they behave too - whether they wish to inspect the props or try it for themselves etc.

Surely the shape of the turtle shell draws direct attention to the method.

@niquetan19 күн бұрын
I don’t think it should come across as that. You can do it like that (as a performance choice), but if done as described, it shouldn’t feel like it is what you’re doing.

Just to double check, you NEED a bare minimum stack of 6-10 billets with a rubber band for the tricks in this volume right? Having a couple loose/spare billets that you pull from your wallet isn't enough for this volume correct?

Good review. Audience management aside, the nature of this effect will lead to people wanting to examine the deck. I have performed the mind powered deck thousands of times. Not once has anyone asked to look at the deck. That’s because other than spreading the deck, you never touch it. They don’t pick a card they just think of a card. anyone who is afraid of fishing, should not be a mentalist. Have three or four participants think of a card and there will be almost no fishing required. I purchased the original mind power deck as soon as it was released at Tannens Magic shop. It was printed on some crazy back design. I threw the original box out, took a joker from a red bicycle deck and put it on top and then put the deck in a bicycle card case. Problem solved. I will admit that I bought the bicycle deck version. The next week, I was performing at bar mitzvah. David Blaine had just done a television special where he told people what they thought of Card was. Of course, some of the 12 and 13-year-old boys at the bar mitzvah asked me to do the same. I broke out the mind , spread the cards and told them to just think a card. they really loved it. In fact, I put the rest of my close-up case back in the trunk of my car and went from table to table telling 4 to 5 people at each table what cards they were thinking of.

Not good trick in my opinion. Way too much heat on the deck. Not standard bicycle back. At least with divine and conquer you can have the spectator touch the cards and take heat off the deck being able to count the cards face up. Honestly if I was to have a gimmick deck it should look semi normal or at least incorporate some sort of spectator interaction to remove heat. I have no problem with mentalism Dex or gimmick cards like esp etc.. but if you're going to do a trick with a full deck it needs to be convincing. You Don't even have the option of a deck switch with this highly gimmicked deck. You mentioned being able to switch out your cards with some other gaff cards you have to convert it to a bicycle but a trick like this should come standard you shouldn't have to add or subtract to a trick I hate tricks that are craft your own or ones that don't stand up on their own. This is a hard pass for me.
@niquetanАй бұрын
As I mentioned… you can use the gaffs with your Bikes. Thanks for tuning in!
@quickplayaАй бұрын
You shouldn't have to add or subtract to an already prepared trick. Also it would not take away the fact that there's too much heat on the deck and spectator can't handle it even if you did switch out gaffs. Tricks should be a complete package and this package falls flat unfortunately. @@niquetan

One quick question, if using the red clothed version, does the cloth or produced object affect the sound when the music is cranked? I would’ve thought that the sound would be muffled by the bag.
@niquetanАй бұрын
I know what you mean and just tested it out. I’ve stuffed the bag into the box in various positions and while the material does hinder the clear ringing of some of the notes, for the most part the melody still rings true.
