I agree with the glazing question below, and I would just add to it; what kind of glazing? I'm guessing salt, but I could be wrong. Let me know.
@markcampbell14123 жыл бұрын
Use a good stable liner glaze on the inside. Make sure clay is fired to maturity is the most important thing. I don't have access to a salt kiln, wish I did.

I just realized you are throwing left-handed?

Good interesting video. But what do beginners need to know? Will any clay one can dig be good? There's red clay in some places, grey clay in coastal areas, then there's certain types of clay, so how is clay processed? I'm guessing it'd need to be cleaned, washed of impurities???
@marciasilviajohnson64614 жыл бұрын
Another question how tall and the diameter?🤗
@marciasilviajohnson64614 жыл бұрын
How much clay you think you use for that? Yes I learned too the hard way about the moat. 🤗

You bat being off center is driving me CRAZY!!!! HAHA stupid OCD. Clay is centered beautifully. Nice bowl. Thanks for sharing.

Kind of like trimming. Only look at the bottom when centering lol.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but that wheel's spinning anti-clockwise, which is for right handed. The wheel needs to be turning away from your dominant hand/side. I am left handed and the wheel spins clockwise.
@markcampbell14125 жыл бұрын
I always say do what makes you comfortable. I know most lefties have the wheel spinning the opposite direction, but this is what works for me.
@yvonnebest74665 жыл бұрын
Yes I think that was the point. How he does it on a right-handed wheel.
@jessiemckelvey81985 жыл бұрын
Mark Campbell i appreciate this. I was gifted a wheel for Christmas and I have only ever done clockwise. The wheel gifted to me only spins counter. I’ve been trying to find how to make it work.

Mark I enjoyed watching your video. You make it look so easy, but it's really not that easy. I can't throw something that big yet, maybe up to 4 # is my limit. A little softer music😊

So you do most things with your right hand? are you using your left hand to center the clay?
