Trump has the best style of leadership, he is the boss, and should be running the world's biggest and strongest businesses in the world, he's the man we need, he's the man we want, and there isn't gonna be anyone like him to step in and make such and impact and positive things to happen for us since Reagan

Thanks for sharing your opinion, Peter. I try not to bring politics into these conversations too much but it's quite difficult since for many people our political leaders are the most obvious example we have to look to for leadership. As a Brit, difficult for me to comment on U.S. Presidents... but fair to say I'm not a fan of Mr Trump!

Perhaps not in your experience, but Raymond's 30+ year Naval career taught him otherwise. I think the key phrase in his point here was "in most capacities". Thanks for sharing your opinion!

@@leadingwithintegrity i understand what he is saying, as a female I can assure you, females in general cannot do as males, we do not have the same muscle mass or strength to do what males do. I see it all the time when there is a female "doing" a job typical to males, the female ends up stepping away to let the male do the muscle work

@@Putt6523 I think it's the words 'in general' that I disagree with, Putt. I would flip it the other way around and say in general women can do as men do, with the exception of specific things. Even then, I'm not totally convinced of that yet; I feel like attitude, determination, perseverance, skill/practice, fitness level, etc. count for a lot more than gender when it comes to someone's ability to do something (I'd also point out that plenty of men aren't super capable of the muscle work you refer to either, myself included! 😅).

@@leadingwithintegrity Because the Ukrainians have just reduced the conscription age down to 25, due to the acute shortage of soldiers and I have not seen any footage or evidence of any female recruits.

Ah that's interesting, hadn't read that. Why is it important for your workplace and/or co-workers if you are gay or not. I think this is nothing they have to worry about. Don't get me wrong, I like that you are so open about this but and that you feel save to come out

You’d have to ask Ray himself as it’s his personal journey, and the when/why of it being important is something I can’t answer on his behalf! Generally speaking, I do think there’s a lot to be said for being authentic and yourself at work though. Part of being human means *not* having different personalities or narratives at home vs at work, part of leading humans means accepting and valuing the whole person.

Exactly. I've been in sales 20yrs. I'm an excellent sole contributor, and an average team leader. I've always found it counter-intuitive when companies automatically view their best team contributor as the de facto best choice to lead the team.

@xplorer841, you're not the only one who sees it that way - more industries need to be thinking about and offering alternative progression routes for people who have no interest in leading. (Don't get me wrong, leadership is a *great* gig, but it's not for everyone - as Paul says in this clip!).
