I wish I saw this before I bought one. They are definitely a little shady when it comes to transparency of what you get in functionality. I got sucked in as well being led to beleive my touch screen would be able to operate this system but no. I have an 8.1" touch screen display but have to use a back button and my tuner knob to navigate the system. This reduced functionality was made clear when i talked to their sale rep nor on their website. Furthermore, when i navigate to many of the apps in car play, i cannot exist the app. The back button does nothing and the tuner knob only allows navigate theough that load app. The unit doesn't work when the key is in acc mode. The screen resolution is so back i can't make out many of the icons. I also can't read any street names in the navigation maps. And lastly, there is a noise on the screen like the rabbit ears tv days with lines moving across the screen. I get the we have older displays and functionality may be reduced because of it, but these things should be disclosed so we can made the right decisions for ourselves based on what the product can delivery. And to top it off, the customer is dismal. Been back and forth with them for 3 days now and still not getting anywhere. I'll be ripping mine out and chucking it. $599... closer to $900cdn after exchange, border and cc fees. I'll be making a review video on this in the new year.

Yes, you got a vehicle that’s 2013. There’s actually nothing wrong with the product. The CarPlay was not even invented until year 2014, so you actually have expected operation on such an old vehicle if you know that you cannot change the radio easily in that car then why compain

My issue was not just with the product, but the lack of customer service that came with it. I hope that someone takes up a legal claim in the future. I was out $500 for a system that did not deliver as promised. I agree with you that I should have known better about trying to retrofit my vehicle with updated technology while trying to preserve my original system. I should have just gone with a new stereo.

@@KGtheSigma I watched your video and noticed that you successfully achieved the functionality you were seeking with Apple CarPlay, everything seems to be working properly. I'm unsure why you believe you lost $500. I recommend trying a different cable for auxiliary use, but you do have CarPlay functioning. Regarding your concerns about screen quality, this is a physical limitation of the screen itself. Considering the age of your vehicle, the text display on the screen is integrated into its design. In old GM vehicles where built-in CD player and screen all in one, the display quality tends to be basic and not high-end. When adding modern technology like CarPlay to an older factory system, it has its limitations. I mean, there are cars like Buick Regal of the same year for example, that would have a high definition screen, but your particular can't fortunately have a very low quality screen

@@Fusionautosportsso you think it would work just fine for a newer radio (2017 Enclave). I can't find a straight answer about my screen being touchscreen if I still would need to operate thru joystick? Hope you guys can help me?
@Fusionautosports

@@AODOGS At my car stereo shop, I work with a wide range of products, and one of the most popular ones I deal with is CarPlay devices. Looking back at vehicles from 2017, whether they’re German, American, European, or Japanese, the Buick Enclave had one of the most basic factory radios you could find. For this model, I believe NavTool isn’t just a solution but it’s the best one. Many of my customers come in frustrated with the factory-installed Apple CarPlay touchscreen, even if their vehicle already has it. They often opt to add NavTool to introduce joystick control because using the touchscreen while driving can be a real hassle. Apple originally designed CarPlay with joystick control as the primary method and the touchscreen as a secondary option, which makes sense because trying to tap on a screen while the car is vibrating is no easy task. Customers frequently tell me that their fingers slip off the screen due to the car's vibrations, making it tough to select what they need. The Buick Enclave is unique because its radio is an all-in-one unit, the most basic factory setup out there, and it doesn’t come with CarPlay. Unlike most cars where NavTool acts as a "middleman" between a separate screen and radio, the Enclave doesn’t have a separate screen or radio. Even so, NavTool adds much-needed functionality to this basic system, making it a perfect fit. Don’t be intimidated by the idea of joystick control-trust me, it’s actually much better than a touchscreen, especially when using CarPlay. Even though many people have touchscreens in their cars, they often find them challenging to use, especially when the vehicle is in motion. I can personally attest to this because I use both touchscreen and joystick controls in my own car every day. That’s why high-end brands like BMW, Mercedes, and Audi have traditionally avoided touchscreens, opting instead for a joystick in the center console. They know it’s safer and easier for drivers, and that’s exactly why I recommend going with the joystick option through NavTool.

I purchased a carplay unit from navtool back in 2021 and was very pleased with it. It was tedious to install, but has worked ever since. I have heard many mixed reviews from other people who have bought from this website. My best suggestion is to check youtube and see if there is a review of the unit for your specific car. These carplay adapters work better on some cars than others. I would not risk purchasing this expensive product if it has not been reviewed by another person online.

In my experience as a car stereo shop owner, I find that most vehicles, around 95% of cars on the market have separate radios and screens, which simplifies the installation process significantly. The interface usually acts as a "middleman," so there's no need for external joysticks or complicated setups. When customers visit my shop, I often find that even if I'm unfamiliar with their specific system, a quick call to NavTool or a check of the car's existing controls usually clears up any uncertainties.

In reality, there is nothing wrong with the product. He’s just got a very old radio that is not designed to have CarPlay on it so given the factory equipment that he has this particular radios are known as a one percent radio, which 99% of the raiders in the market do not have such basic things such as no external touchscreen or auxiliary attached the front of the radio so you really have to understand that this particular vehicle , has one of the most basic radios that is available in the world. This is probably the cheapest with the screen in the mass pro produce vehicle.

@@Fusionautosports wrong. I have the same thing. It works. And have the cup holder button. Which helps navigate the system. You have to get used to it like newer cars have already without touch screen. Furthermore the company has many issues itself alone with the interface. They are trying to sell a perfect product, which it is no where near. Like others, after many attempts to fix, replace with no luck, cant get a refund, Just a running their mouth saying their engineers are working on solutions, I too called my CC company and got my money back. They state they will take you to court if you do. But they can't. Way to much to add here, but I help they do get shut down. Read other posts to learn or hear what others complaints are, if needed. Hope this helped others not to buy from them.

I did an online chat with them since they didn't answer the call. Asking about what they have forsale for my car. And I couldn't get a straight answer. They said "most modern phones" do HDMI over USBC. Well, I wanted to know if my phone would support that and they didn't answer that question. So, I don't know. I couldn't get a technical response to my detailed question(s) , so I just said thanks and I nixed that idea. Even their video on KZbin didn't say anything specific in my opinion. So, I just passed it up. It does t sound right. I did buy a navtool like 5 years ago for my rear view camera and it worked fine and I got simple straight answers back in the day. But as far as their new Android auto and HDMI support and wireless connectivity, it sounded too good to be true. So I called them like 2 days ago, and that is when I got all those long drawn out responses that never did answer my questions. So, again, I just passed it up!

I run a car stereo shop where we install systems from top brands like Sony, Pioneer, Alpine, JVC, and NavTool. A common feature of these systems is an HDMI input, which makes it easy to connect a variety of devices. However, a challenge I often face is when customers want to watch videos on their car screens. CarPlay/Android Auto is typically easy to set up, whether wireless or through USB, but streaming videos can be a bit more complicated, especially with Android phones. Unlike iPhones, which have a more consistent connection standard, Android devices differ between manufacturers, making compatibility tricky. To make things simpler, we’ve found a reliable solution: we install a Google Chromecast or Roku TV device. This way, regardless of whether a customer has an iPhone or an Android phone, they can stream videos to their car screen without any issues. But they were right providing you the answer they did, most phones do work with USB-C to HDMI. That's why HDMI standards exist, so that factory car radios and home TVs manufacturers don't need to worry about what device you have, they all provide a standard HDMI input.

I got the same issue with "Check Surroundings" text above, then i tried the Navtool software using my laptop and reprogrammed the video outputs to the corresponding functions. I noticed then that the text disappeared. So for example its like you have wired a dvd player input to show as reverse camera output. This just looks like a really poor implementation based on what they’re able to do with your specific vehicle. My install experience was pretty damn seamless and if you take some time to install the unit and hide away the little brain box of the system, it’s pretty clean. Yeah, you rely on using the AUX input but considering so many vehicles are doing some form of MOST fiber optic audio, it’s likely the easiest solution. My experience with my Range Rover Sport was dramatically more positive because the stock unit is a touch screen. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIu6eXicjNmshtk

@@KGtheSigmadid you see the comment above where someone else had same issue and reprogrammed the interface so that everything corresponds with its proper output? Kudos to you for getting it installed and working first off. I think you’re limited to the head units resolution hence the blurry image. The cord out the dash is ghetto but the guy shows you this in the instructions so that should’ve been anticipated. Unless you have aftermarket options NavTool is probably the only legitimate solution to upgrade older cars with integrated infotainment systems. Just sucks that their customer service eats ass after they get your money. I bet little Asian dude ain’t selling a ton of these things. But at least it works, it’s expensive and low res but better than nothing which is sad to say considering the $550 price tag.
