The car manufacturers need to be called out about the ridiculous range that they talk about. We need to know a true from and to range, from driving on a motorway at 120kph with 5 people and bags in the middle of January when the car is 3 years old, to one person driving the most economical driving in summer. Then we would be informed customers.

Great bit of trivia there ! Remember reading that Stirling had broken a land record, in a car of that shape … but never knew it was an MG, nor that it was called The Roaring Raindrop ! My life feels so much more complete now !! Thanks C !

Excellent to the point review. As an EV, it's main weak spots are efficiency and front wheel drive. My Model 3 LR has over 30% better efficiency, and that's with much more power and performance than the EV3. Aerodynamics might be the EV3's issue, but interesting to see results in summer. Nevertheless, I'd consider one.

That's nice, but none of the many EV3 reviewers use gloves to operate the buttons and handles, and I still can't find out what kind of battery it has. I guess I'll have to wait for Sandy Munro to tear one down. And maybe they will build them in the USA someday so we'll have a choice.

What was your impression about the driving assist system? A lot of reviewers mentioned them as very annoying, because they beep all the time and there is no short key to mute them.

Heard a few other UK and EU reviews complaining about the range too - wondering if this is mostly to do with winter range ? My Soul is showing low to mid-20s kWh/100km in last month or so … but the Accumulated figure, over the last 5000km is still showing 16.2kWh/100km. That includes a mix of trips to Scotland, Northern Ireland and West Cork, from Bray. Be interested to see how the EV3 does into the new year.

It does not have a courtesy light for rear passengers!! If you have children it is a problem Big mistake, the interior light is very poor. But the big problem is the steep slopes, its "three gears" do not help, once the battery is exhausted, the thermal engine is very slow and incapable, there are many complaints. In theory, they are solving it with a software update...we will see

There are many reviews on line, regarding the ZS Hybrid+. Only 2 have highlighted power loss, due to the deletion of the traction battery, as a problem. However, all non plug in Hybrids are prone to this. The majority of reviewers provide a balanced view, and are mostly complimentary. If you have a heavy right foot, and are inclined to demand repeated 0 to 60 MPH drag racing, then this is probably not the car for you. If on the other hand, you are looking for a very well appointed family mid sized SUV, at a very reasonable price, this may well be the ideal car. It’s a case of horses for courses.

Great video, but for your info, the "running board" is actually part of the structural box of the battery - it allows the battery to be lower, and it stiffens the car against the lateral horizontal forces induced by the battery as the car moves across all the planes. It's a very clever device actually. Just saying!
