Go every so often. Went extremely grippy a couple months back when they got new tyres but because it was so grippy, the tyres just got destroyed so no longer has the grip they had. However it wasn't too slippery the last time I went. In all honesty I think it makes it more fun when it's slippery

@obRCmania Do you know how often they change the tyres? I usually only go 2 or 3 times a year and the last time I went (A few days ago) I felt like I was sliding around more than usual, and wondered if it was my driving or track/kart conditions. I always guessed it was more down to track condition rather than tyre condition, but I guess it's the other way round?

@@kyranthez927 It usually is more down to track conditions. Use to go twice a month and in the same month the track can easily be a second slower. If there was any kind of condensation on the track, it can be like an ice rink

This time was set over 5 years ago during a 12 hour endurance race in older karts. Funnily enough this isn't even the lap record as just before they got rid of these karts they changed tyres on them and on fresh tyres someone manage to get in to the 35s. If you don't believe me ask Conner or Martin who works there and show them this video. Martin was one of my teammates during the event

​is it true they use to be faster ? A girl claims she hit 29 sec in a lap but the record on the wall today was 36 seconds I seen so either she's lying or the carts are different

@@joshturner9766 I've seen 29 seconds on the old track layout from about 7/8 years ago. But I think the fastest I've ever seen on this track was 34s but that was when a kart spilt oil everywhere and the track was basically flat out everywhere. It wasn't official as no one would ever get near that time on a normal day. I think it was set by a marshal who worked there if I remember correctly. However this was a good few years ago. I would say that the current karts are a touch slower but not much.

Yeh. Didn't realise it took 3 minutes to get to the grid and start the race from the pit lane. Lesson learnt for next time

No worries. These things happen and it wasn't that bad tbh. Overall You defended very well the last couple of laps

Gear as in race gear or camera gear? If you're just getting started in rental karting, I would suggest just using the rental race suits that are provided and buy yourself a basic motorbike helmet. Nothing fancy but not ultra cheap. Some of the rental helmets can be a little grim and worn out. The camera I use is just an old GoPro 4 black mounted to the side of my helmet

Thanks. It's been a while since I had that much fun while racing. Just seems like some of the fun goes when it becomes serious and when it becomes serious, your less likely to try things

Old karts. They reset the fastest laps when they got the new kart a year or 2 ago. Also someone eventually beat my lap time so this wasn't the lap record in the old karts

I don't see why you couldn't. You will just need to use a smaller propeller which may affect how quickly the plane accelerates and slow speed flying

@@obRCmania ah that explains a lot. I'm 90kg and can only realistically do a 37.8, although i think the karts aren't capable of anywhere near 36.x now regardless of weight

I still can't work out what caused me to spin. Had understeer every time I went through there the entire day until that spin. Clearly still getting up to speed after not racing for a while 😂

I think its that they have new karts now and I set that lap time on the old karts. Don't think they've changed the track but I haven't been there for a while

Not bad. I know how frustrating it is when it's constantly yellow flags and they usually come out when you just about to finish what feels likes a good lap. I haven't driven at teamsport Bristol since they've had the new karts so don't really know how different they are to the old ones. Need to try them at some point

@@obRCmania Did you try it again? Today was my first day in this track, last time in a kart may be 10 years ago (I'm 36), I did 40.8. Someone made 39,1. Usually on first race there is a lot of yellow flags, on second one is much better.

@@Danidurga unfortunately I haven't been to the track for 3 years. Hoping to get back there soon as there karts have changed since the last time I was there and I'm curious to see what there like

I’m 14 and got a 41second but could do a 40 if no traffic

Been over 2 years since I last did a race so will be very rusty. However glad the videos are helpful

Nice. It's a great fun track. it's been almost 4 years since I last raced there and 15 months since I last karted. Need to find the time to get back in to karting
