There needs to be more heads on discussions on how to make AI more reliable because it's here, and countries are racing to develop it. Obviously, the normative framework will continue to operate, but its efficacy needs to be explored since the push and pull factors, are not only increasing but also speeding up. Nations no longer want to get left behind in using this technology. Why to do it is clear - because we need a sustainable and safe, plus reliable world order. The how of it all remains evasive. Governments need to have broader discussions on using military AI and really sit down with the technology companies which are innovating at scales and rates we do not yet know. Or maybe sit down to agree that military AI should only be used for peaceful purposes. Or perhaps create pockets of regulation since the one size fits all approach might not suit in this situation.

How these foreigners correctly know the internal working of CCP and decision processes in China? Even Chinese themselves have no ideas what is going on except a very few who are real decision makers. But these decision makers never reveal secrecy of the internal working. Sure, these outside China experts think they know something, but China never follow these experts' or West's scripts. What these expert said about China is no better than your and my thinking.

Thanks to this discussion and also for writing the book. Congress wants to say that Nehru was always right for political reasons. We have to depend on people like you to know what went right and what went wrong among Nehru s foreign policy that we lost POK, we lost Aksai chin, he even ended up making Pakistan an ally of USA wherein USA wanted to be on our side. Except for NAM Nehru failed badly on foreign policy.

So brainded, tell me what is the condition of Pakistan , the ally of USA now. Why USA support SAUDI but is against Iran, what did you learn from syria, iraq, libya, cuba, venezuela, korea, vietnam, cambodia, ukraine. Do u knwo why russia was denied NATO membership. Brainded, do you know India signed LEMOA in 2016, while you were busy on streets for your temple? Brainded, I will be waiting for your opinion as why your saviour USA will spare some proxy wars in India.

The problem was, Nehru thought that only he had the brains and acumen to deal with the foreign policy. He never consulted with anyone and met his nemesis after 1962.

1. Excellent discussions on the topic quite relevant even today. 2. Whatever be Nehru's ideas, understanding and policies about China in particular and USA as well, they were proved totally wrong in his own life time. In fact, his policies led to almost permanent damage to the national interest then and throughout last 75 years since our independence. Sardar Patel could be seen to be much more astute and logical compared to Nehru. 3. There is another book by one Sikh historian from Ministry of External Affairs published a couple of years ago, that describes how Nehru went totally wrong in his Chine policy. He has quoted extensively from archives of the Ministry. 4. Given this, while BJP is bound to launch offensive on Nehru and Congress rule in general, the fact remains that Nehru in hindsight did incalculable damage to India's interests so far as China and Pakistan is concerned. Since he was the sole decision maker, he was fully responsible for the failure of his policies, which now completely dwarf his other achievements. 5. While Pakistan of course is not worth talking about, it must be said that its leadership was much more astute in securing their national interests.

Leadership needed for India’s AI progress is in highly capable hands. NN presented compelling vision. From a pure technical perspective,I would add is that pure data driven AI is not adequate; we need to integrate relevant human (e.g., domain specific) knowledge and experience to train and guide AI to the use cases. This means further extending the idea of using community data.

I find it interesting that the Sri Lankan side is worried about the Indians shafting them but are quite happy with the Chinese. Never mind the Indians keeping SL afloat with financial, energy, meds and other humanitarian assistance (on its own and by rallying Western partners).
