I need a formula for the surface area of a hyperboloid of height h, between the planes z=1/2h and z=-1/2h. I have calculated this area using numerical integration by summing the lateral area of truncated cones, but I need a formula for the area, if it exists. Can anyone help?

If you have 4gh^2 + 3h^2 + 3g^2. What order would you put these. I am asking, how do you order them based on variables, not powers. I know powers still come into play though. Another example, say you have g^2 + h^2 - 4g^2h^2 + g^2 + h^2 - 4. What would be the answer to this? My answer was 2g^2 + 2h^2 - 4g^2h^2 - 4. I just ordered them wrong. But got it right however. Also your students rushing and interruptions are highly irritating. I would have spoke up if I was in your classroom and I was seriously focused on learning.
