Also regarding KWH, the battery I built was 2.2 KWH, just a test platform. If I could suggest anything to you, I suggest using prismatic batteries with a heavy duty BMS. I built mine from scratch as an experiment but I wouldn't recommend it for safety and daily reliability.

On top of that, I'm heading 3 major renovations so I've had very little time and access to my tooling to do the aforementioned tasks on the electric car. I'm going to do my best to get the 3 Geo tracker follow up videos to you guys as soon as possible but life has other plans haha :,

Looks really great. That is going to be a ton of worms in that small area as they reproduce. Time to get the other prototypes ready! Looking forward to that. being able to 3D print all your parts and looks like CNC your Plywood certainly helps this be a manageable DIY. this screen might be more durable in the future and you could probably do 10 buckets with all that. Looking forward to your videos that go through your analysis of the castings!

@Dampflanze3 жыл бұрын
great design congratulations to your design. Why did you fill it up to the top if the worms don´t go all the way down usually
@ElecTrackProjects3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, and these worms are European nightcrawlers so they do actually go down to about 18 inches. Keep in mind worms are self regulating in terms on population. Since the bottom is open, as worms population increases, more and more worms will migrate down. This isn't a problem in this system as whatever worms exit the bottom of the bucket into the casting catch bin, will be used for fishing.
@Dampflanze3 жыл бұрын
@@ElecTrackProjects To my understanding they stick to the aerated surface area. Sure they can go down to 18" if they have to. Can you share what that three threaded axle is called? Want to build one too,ha!
@ElecTrackProjects3 жыл бұрын
@@Dampflanze While the majority stays near the surface, some travel deeper. Also, the device you're talking about is a custom patent-pending design I call a delta-style shaft retainer. For many people, it's a little complicated to fabricate. If you want to make this project easier, I suggest you omit the spinning shaft, shaft retainer, and the "anti-torque mounts". You can still harvest with just the grate on the bottom in place with one of those hand held mini rakes(just comb it from the bottom once a week).

Hi Do you have a Kit or Manual, course I can follow to convert my geo tracker?
@ElecTrackProjects3 жыл бұрын
Hello, I do not have a kit(most of the materials and parts I used for this project are salvaged from other platforms/machines). Truthfully said, and I do mention this in several videos in the series, I am experimenting with how cheap I can build this. Therefore, there is quite a lot of trial-and-error and multiple iterations of designs. I have already gotten the Tracker to drive, I just haven't had the time to edit the videos. Because you asked, I will try to create some sort of simplified guide on how to do this. But overall you can simplify this whole build to several portions. You obviously need the Tracker, which you have. You'll need a motor and motor-transmission adapter(you can see how I fabricated that on my other videos). Additionally, you'll need a motor controller that can mesh with your motor(DC/BLDC/AC?). Finally, you'll need a battery/battery management system. Because there are so many options and paths you can take out in the market/world along with part/material availability, it's hard to make a comprehensive, one-size-fits-all guide. But if you break down the whole project into distinct parts, it'll seem more manageable. I'll try to revisit this comment in another video that can address your question. Thanks for watching by the way!

How would you reccomend starting out DIY work when I don't have any space in which to store materials nor tools, nor a whole lot of space to actually build? I really want to do some work on my desk, amongst other things, but I genuinely don't know how to start.
@ElecTrackProjects4 жыл бұрын
Hey I've been there done that! My advice to you is to take what you have as design constraints. For example, I always design and build projects with 3 main things in mind: 1. Economics- Can I afford it?(plan the parts/materials) 2. Material availability(Can I even get the materials to build the parts, and if not, are there commercially available substitutes that fit the budget) 3. Tooling/space requirements(Can my tools/space be used creatively to complete the project) More often than not, it is not a lack of a "proper" build space/tools that stop DIY'ers from doing projects, it is a lack of can-do attitude. Also, even having the tools/space doesn't guarantee good results. I'll give you an example. You said you don't have a whole lot of space for tools or projects. That's fair. However, that's where you get creative. In this video, you see me cut out a sheet of plywood for the top and sides of the table. Maybe you don't have a tablesaw/circular saw/etc. That's fine, now it's time to rethink if these plans even suit the 3 main considerations I listed above. Perhaps, change the plans so they fit your needs/environment. Maybe disassemble a free nightstand people throw away and use that as a table top rather than cutting plywood(yes, I do go curb trash "shopping"). Main takeaway is that don't get discouraged, start with small projects to gain confidence in your creativity and then you'll expand your repertoire with time. And most certainly, don't drop a million bucks on tools, for they don't finish the project; your brain and willpower do. Best of luck and don't hesitate to ask more questions! I have a lot of educational resources/vendors I use that could help you!
@theblockbreakerpog4 жыл бұрын
@@ElecTrackProjects Thanks so much! Having to find different ways to solve the same problem actually sounds really good. I'm not often creative, so having this as a project looks like a great chance to, well, actually think of more creative things. I've only got a drill and a set of screwdrivers, so I imagine there'll be a ton of unorthodox approaches needed.
@ElecTrackProjects4 жыл бұрын
@@theblockbreakerpog Sounds good! By the way, if you want to start building structural and organizational stuff, check out 8020.net.
