Its been 7 years since this video. Are you still using this fertilizer on your garden? Great results compare to store bought fertilizers?

Hi from across the pond Katie! It's your American youtube fan, Roberta, who came to visit you at Hampton Court Palace :) It was SO wonderful to visit with you briefly, and I'm loving all of my gardenalia! Small world: I bought that exact same book "Why Women Grow" from Hatchard's in London on that trip. It IS so beautifully written. Take good care :)

Arne Maynard book fantastic, really lustworthy! I also like The new small garden - Noel Kingsbury and Garden style - Heidi Howcroft and Marianne Majerus. Both of these a bit more relatable for ordinary sized gardens. Another lovely book is Gardens of Plenty - Marylyn Abbott . All about potager gardens. Good to look at when it's raining outside ❤

Delightful as always Katie. Love the tours! Everything looks beautiful. Think I’m equally excited for the two cut flower beds, what a great advantage of the smaller greenhouse. I wonder if there’s a plan somewhere in your mind for a pond in the future? You know, when you’re not putting up greenhouses, weeding, transforming your new home, working in the warehouse, doing garden shows, replanting stuff, weeding, chasing chickens, shooting videos, editing videos, doing book reviews, drinking all the tea and just generally being ridiculously brilliant!? 🤗🤔😘🤣

I too have been having immense compost problems. But I realised soon enough to spread my Tomatoes between four brands - same seeds, same age, same conditions, just different compost. Three of the four compost brands were *terrible* - night and day difference with the one good compost. Same with Courgettes, Squash, Peppers, etc. Truly dismal, and has really impacted my season.

I never had any problems with germination when I could buy peat based compost. I have had endless problems this year with no germination, rotting and very poor growth with no peat composts. Enough to make me give up.

The whole garden looks so nice, neat, organised. You really seem to be leaning into all what the garden offers. I’m really enjoying the flower bed, your Mum has done well. You must do a video, talking us through all the flowers that are on display!😊

Lovely plot tour, will your dad start making more of the brassica cage metal stakes again for the online store? They are the best design I've seen. I have the cloche hoops and they are still going strong after all these years.

Lovely video Katie, thank you. I too have had problems with slow growing and stunted seedlings. I was listening to a Sarah Raven podcast recently and she recommends that with peat free compost you need to feed as soon as the seedling has germinated. I’m going to give that a go for my future sowings

The garden is looking fantastic, so neat and tidy. I'm so glad that the calendula has self sown, and you have planted some flowers. The orchard is beautiful and the chickens are looking very happy there. I enjoy your you tube channel so much, it would be great to see your tiny home project, and the creation of your cut flower beds for next year.

Most of my direct sowings got eaten by slugs :( including all my sunflowers. Stuff I've sown in modules are doing great. I've got hollyhocks and artichokes on their way, which are both biennial, but worth the wait! I shall finish my planting out for summer at the weekend and maybe sow some more flowers. Looking good, I'm glad you've decided on a smaller greenhouse, I couldn't figure out what you were going to do with crystal palace!
