This is loosely based on the true life story of the Finnish soldier and sniper Simo Häyhä who killed over 500 enemy/Soviet soldiers during the Winter War of 1939-40. The other incredible Finnish Soldier during that war and subsequent WW II was Lauri Allan Törni who fought for Finland, Germany, and eventually in the U.S. Army Green Berets during the Vietnam Way. Both Guys were Finnish patriots and fought with phenomenal courage, endurance and tenacity.

I seen this movie over 20 years ago. Theirs something about this movie that fascinates me. This movie will never get old with me. They don’t make movies like this anymore that has meaning or purpose. This movie should be available for kids 9-14 with adult males to see together for discussion about the film. Excellent performances by everyone.

The first 10 minutes of this movie is incredibly shocking. It haunted me for weeks. She almost saved the girl's life...the ended up contrinuting to her terrible death. Gosh.

Looks like fun. But the undercover cop is too young to be placed with Toni Colette; should have picked a slightly older man with some streaks of grey hair. More believable then.
