Hawaii is beautiful, have been there twice. It's a cool place to "visit" but I have no desire to live there. I understand most people that move there end up moving back to the mainland in the end.

OMG thank you. My brother was planning on selling one of his California homes and buy in the Kona area. Then the fires in Maui. He is just going to rent. BBBOOO!!! This is still great info.

ALL THE PLACES YOU MENTION ARE A MILLION DOLLARS PLUS. WIAMEA IS ALWAYS COVERED IN CLOUDS, COLD AND RAIN. HAWAII IS NO LONGER AFFORDABLE FOR RETIREES ON A BUDGET. THERE WAS A TIME, 8 YRS AGO WHEN YOU COULD BUY A PIECE OF PROPERTY FOR CHEAP, HILO SIDE. BUT NO MORE.

Bherin, this is simply stunning. One of the best I have seen. But I have several questions. Is there a link directly to this listing for more information? # of bedrooms ? Solar for power or water? Elevation and view from property? Gas or electric stove? Size of property, size of home. Furnishing and decorations are excellent does it come turnkey with furniture?.

@@bherinbrownrealtor Thank you helpful. My concern with some of the places I keep falling in love with is sea level. I do believe in climate change sea level rise. As a retiree any move at this point would probably be to a "forever home". So the last thing I would want is to get stormed or flooded out.

@@Libradad I totally understand! I also believe this will be an issue for some in the future. However according to NASA the sea level will rise 12 inches by 2050. That’s a long time from now. Although I’m not a climate expert I would be very surprised if the property was affected as it’s not oceanfront and not right at sea level - there is some elevation and it’s across the street set quite a ways far back from the ocean. Mahalo for watching! There is not one specific zoning for STVR. Could be V- vacation or RM- residential multi family. However a property could be RM but house rules won’t allow it. Be sure to consult a trusted Hawaii real estate agent on this. It’s a case by case basis. V is usually a good bet because the property use is meant for vacation but I hear in Oahu that may no longer be the case for some properties!

Just saw this yesterday. This house checks all my boxes. I love the pass thru window feature of the kitchen, House is perfect size and has all the features. Solar on the roof is a plus. I would add a soaking spa tub some where. And I love the out door shower. We did that in the Philippines during the rainy season and I loved it. So to be able to do that again would be heaven...
