Thank you very much for posting a very imperative discussion on maam Mona Baker's second edition of her book originally written in 1992.Through the interview we have added the information about the new additions in the same book; In Other Words.

1:47" On which we sink (think) ... bad language for such a professor of translation who spent most of her life studying, teaching, and living in England.

You may not like the way you heard that. That is your opinion. It wasn't incorrect in any way. You need to have more exposure to other accents (there are so many just in the UK) and be a bit more open-minded; this is my advice.

@@laraabuain6200 Again, there are so many accents that it is a little weird you judge someone by saying "oh your th sounded a bit like s there!". Listen to more UK accents, and perhaps then, you will understand. I am assuming you are a non-native speaker, so please have more exposure to sounds before you harshly judge a professor. Good day.

It's not bad language; it's a idiolect. To demonstrate, go to Google translate. Type in "think" then use the drop down to choose a different language (e.g., Arabic, French, Italian) then click the little speaker icon in the lower left hand corner to hear the pronunciation; not its translation - its pronunciation.

I deplore the Muslim Mona Baker and her kind for supporting her Muslim Falsetinian brothers.
