Powered by a 300 HP jet drive, you can go as fast as 65 miles an hour and that is fast! It’s also a lot of fun! Yes, it is not cheap, but if you have room to store it at your house, it may still be worth it.

Thanks for your feedback. I would say that’s the compromise that one would need to make to have a little bit of everything in a small, affordable package ( relatively speaking).

Thanks for your feedback. Your opinion is important. This boat at full throttle, trimmed all the way, should do about 30 miles an hour on a calm day. Considering it's only 14 feet, it's adequate speed, I think. You can run this boat all day and spend less than 30 bucks on gas and that's the best part! -:)

Boats are not cheap... The practicality of this vessel is what makes it so appealing I think. It's very functional, super easy to maintain and a breeze to tow. It takes very little space so storage should not be an easy issue, either.

​I hear you, but I took delivery of my last new boat in late 2019 and it was bigger (16), had more HP(60), was made of Kevlar, had a polling platform, 12 gallons of fuel, floated in 6 inches of water, and had a really nice trailer as well and after taxes and options, everything was less than this boat you've posted. Boats may have never really been cheap, but they've only recently entered absurdity in pricing.

I believe the manufacturer lets you configure the layout to a certain degree. It may be at an additional cost though.

I appreciate your feedback. I mentioned the same when I talked to the manufacturer of this boat. I was told that for a boat of this size, 300 HP is plenty of power and the top speed of this vessel is close to 50 mph.

Please bear in mind that this vessel is fully loaded and there is also a cabin that you can sleep in, a toilet with a holding, 2 sinks, a barbecue, a livewell and much more. There are many centers consoles out which cost as much as this one if not more with less amenities. I personally feel like this boat is competitively priced but that’s only my personal opinion.

It comes with 2 sinks, a grill, a pump out toilet with a holding tank, kick ass stereo system, fresh water tank, A/C, deep livewell, fishbox, Garmin multi-function screen, underwater lights, trim tabs, VHF radio, solid fiberglass T-top, flood light, plenty of rod and cup holders, rear view camera, courtesy lights, swim platform, ample seating space, USB charging ports, 300 HP four stroke 4.2 liter Yamaha outboard and the list goes on and on... for only $176K. It is fully loaded! I have not seen such a well equipped vessel for this price anywhere else! Have you? This Solara is DEFINITELY A GREAT DEAL!!!

The engine data screen will let you know if the oil level is low. There is only a single connection in the back to flush all 4 engines. You can do that when you are back in the marina. I believe the builder decided to put a second livewell instead of an access door to the back.

There is no such door on this model. You will need to go over the storage in the back. Yamaha engines are extremely reliable. Assuming you get them serviced on time, chances are you will never need to check the engines-:)

You don't need a dedicated crew for this boat. Two people can easily manage it.

Cutwater Boats are built in the United States, near Seattle, Washington. The build quality is excellent as they are designed to withstand the harsh conditions of the northern seas. For insurance, you can get quotes from Progressive and Geico. You may also want to ask the builder for recommendation.

I really like this one. Usually, it comes with a 115HP, so 150HP will get this boat flyin'!!! :) The 18 footer is what I call the sweet spot. It's very easy to take care of, it is fast, you can launch it by yourself, you can also take it offshore. Needless to say, Yamaha makes the best outboards! They are bullet proof and more reliable than anything else out there! Cheers!

Thanks for your feedback. There is actually a rap around curtain in the bathroom that will keep everything dry except the toilet seat. So, there won't be any need to wipe everything off after taking a shower which can be super annoying! Actually, there is a table that raises up in the v berth and you can remove that table too if you wish so that you can have plenty of floor space. It's about $320,000 but if you want a fully loaded one with all the bells and whistle, then you are looking at $360,000. It's reasonable, relatively speaking.

If you wanna justify the price of this boat, just think about having a house on the water, let's say in the Keys. Such a house would cost you at least $1.5 million, not to mention taxes, INSURANCE (flood, wind, homeowner), maintenance etc... and chances are you would only spend few weeks per year, if that much in your summer house and you would still NEED A BOAT! -:) This particular vessel is trail-able so you could take it anywhere you want, spend days on the water, enjoy your private deck in the back and haul it back to your home base when you are done.

If you can secure a dock space (which provides water, electricity and sewage connection) in a marina run by the county (NOT PRIVATELY), up to 30 feet, in the area where I live, it's $485 a month. But, there is a 4 years waiting list!! -:( You just need to do some research. It's doable, and if you love being on the water like I do, then I think we should also try to do it before we die. We live once, right?
