To give a child a name in honor of the revolution - unbelievable. The perversity of fate is revealed here in the fact that this child many years later refuses to join the communist party. A sad and tragic biography and an overlooked composer.

Yes, a really sad and tragic fate for a very gifted composer as talented as Boris Tchaikovsky and Georgy Sviridov.

The beginning reminds me of Sviridov's "Time, Forward!"

That's right, there are elements that remind me of Sviridov in Bunin's music in general, which makes him rather endearing to my ears. :)

Комментарий Фируза в письме ко мне: «Бузург» - таджикское, персидское слово, переводится как великий. Великий относится к Абу Али ибн Сине (Авиценне), которому симфония посвящена. Но есть и другое значение слова «бузург», а именно название первого и самого большого макома из цикла шашмаком. Он называется «Бузрук», - фонетическое изменение слова «бузург». Ибн Сина участвовал в создании макома, ему принадлежит расчёт ладов.

I really liked this piece, the use of dissonance in the horn section in the beggining is my favorite part of the piece. I did something kinda similar in the string section in my latest piece "PSIQUIATRICUS", i'm composer as well.

A very compelling work - full of great textures. The ideas, despite loosely hanging, come together to create some superb cohesion. This music was a journey, one that I loved from start to end. Bravo Nastia!

Rigorous but also widely varied, a good listen. Would benefit from a lucky e performance, which I think would be challenging and fun for the players.

В принципе музыку Караманова немало играл Игорь Яврян. Мог быть и он, но сочинение достаточно репертуарное... В параллель могу предложить такое исполнение Чэнь Сули: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIirfo2EppV2q6c . Еще записал другой мой ученик Андрей Сиденко, но эта - не та, та была студийная фондовая запись начала 90-х гг., и её у меня нет. Мисс Чэнь записала еще пару фуг Караманова, она их тоже выложила на ютюб.

I know him a little: it's difficult to find his music, the recordings are almost unavailable in Europe. It't's very special, somehow unique, and should me more known!

Congratulations, Anastasia. It is so wonderful to hear this live recording. You must be proud. This is such a beautiful piece, with a great blend of aggressively playful music, menace and bruised lyricism; it sounds quite difficult too.
