So this is not a good investment while you are retired if you need to withdraw money? It sounds like this is for a portion of retirement that you can sit on for 15 years.

Fascinating exploration of the idea of "controlling time." It raises deeper questions about the nature of control itself. Control often feels like a mental construct-an illusion born from the belief that we are separate selves navigating a world of other "separate" entities. Acting from this perspective, we imagine we can direct how time unfolds or how change manifests. Yet, time flows and change happens, regardless of what we think we are controlling. Time exists only in this present moment. The past is a memory, the future a projection. Neither can be influenced directly, as they do not exist outside the mind. The sense of a "self" trying to control this process may itself be worth questioning. If we look deeply, can we truly find a separate self? We can observe a body, we can experience thoughts, but are these "us"? Consider a tree. At a glance, it seems separate-roots, trunk, branches, foliage. But when we look closer, we see the tree depends on the soil, the rain, the air, and the sun. It is not truly separate; it is an expression of its environment, inseparable from it. Is the concept of "tree" then just a construct our minds create to describe a dynamic, interconnected process? Similarly, what is the self? Could it, too, be a construct-a mental image attempting to pin down something that is fluid and interdependent? From this perspective, the "self" imagines it controls time, yet time and change occur independently, flowing through the interconnected web of life. Perhaps real freedom lies not in controlling time but in surrendering to its flow, aligning with the present moment, and recognizing that what we call "control" might only be a story told by the egoic mind.

Continuing to do work…that has purpose and value makes more sense to me than ‘retiring’

Paul, really enjoyed hearing your comments in this podcast. It confirmed for me that I made the right choice several years ago when I opted to do my financial planning with you and Charlie. I really appreciate your client-centric approach and your attitude about your firm. You're obviously not just pushing products. I knew all of that already, but it was good to hear all the comments you guys made in the podcast. Thank you for the focus of your firm/business.
