As far as I’m concerned it was justified the second they decided to bomb Pearl Harbor. Like America was entirely unwilling to join the war but Japan decided to just attack. And as far as I’m concerned the US and Japan are even.

They were gonna put school children and women on the front lines with bamboo spears to act as meat shields for Japanese troops. Ehh, we didn’t really give them an option after the first one. Damn shame it is and that’s something that should never ever happen again. Even with all the evil happening in the world destruction on that scale will only send us all to hell. Hard to justify the amount of death from the two blasts. Hiroshima and Nagasaki held military resources but I believe it was estimated only a quarter of the deaths were military personnel.. yes even the workers who did paperwork and phone calls are included

That’s what the experts who got really good at predicting the cost of American soldiers fighting the Japanese island to island battles predicted would happen if America invade the main Japanese island.

They even had over 365,000 Purple Hearts ready to be given if the invasion took place. Truman even said that “My object is to save as many American lives as possible but I also have a human feeling for the women and children of Japan.” Which predicted that a quarter of the Japanese population would be casualties. By the way I’m Japanese. We learn better history of ww2 then todays Americans.
